I did finally take your advice on the stool Skinty!
Clootie is so nice, the shops don't always have it in and we've not yet extracted the ingredients list from TomBo's aunt to try and make it at home. Which might be a good thing as I wouldn't eat anything else 🙈Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Well done on sorting out the tax and your fab bargains. Hope meters sort soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you SH. I felt like a normal human being shopping yesterday, rather than thinking must save every penny. That helped with my decision to keep a bit of pocket money each month.
It's been raining today, so lunch was cancelled. Instead we popped over to see SIL, OH and mini me, plus the little furballs. Took a load of goodies over for the furballs which they tucked into. I've offered to help SIL sell a load of mini me's old things.
I've been in the garden, did a little to the patio and TomBo worked on the tree stump. I need to find my warm outdoor clothing for when I go out again.
We are having beef with homegrown carrots and beetroot, plus shop veg, tonight.
Tomorrow I will be reading some more of my magazines and relaxing 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
So glad you treated yourself, and savvy shopping too!
At least you got to see family, and the furballs can be safe in the knowledge they aren't on the menu....

Great you got to see family - we aren't allowed where we live currently. It's amazing what we all took for granted before.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you Ren, SW and SH.
We can only get away with social distance, outside visits and have to stay in the same health board if going anywhere, unless we work somewhere else. For me that means I only get to see SIL.
These furballs have never been eaten in the UK, only ever were pets. TomBo does tend to eat anything, but so far has not come home with roadkill; maybe because he hasn't spotted what he really wants!
Was given loads of rosemary yesterday. I've trimmed some and put in water to make new plants, got a load drying in the window and got some for the next few days / week.
- I'm going to set up some form of production room in the second bedroom for processing the herbs, starting seeds off and anything else I need to do. It's going to be a multipurpose room with all the things I need it for 🙈
-- once the built-in wardrobe is done that will free up all the space in that room.
It is cold up here, getting some warm days but the nights are fresh. I am putting the heating on every few evenings now, the flat warms up quickly and stays warm when it's switched off again.
I'm just relaxing for the afternoon and reading my magazines.
Having lamb casserole tonight.

Well done for sorting the WFH tax! I think I'll sort mine out over the Christmas break since we're not going back into the office any time soon.3

Great use of your spare space - I can see it becoming your extra cupboard for a pantry. All those home grown goodies turning into pickles, chutneys, jams, yum!"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

There no official thing to say we won't be back in the office this year, just the same if you can work from home do so.
We are putting more shelving in the pantry, I just need another desk or something in the second bedroom for the processing side. It's still more like a dumping ground / half a bedroom and I've said we need to sort it out and try and make space in it. I'm adding it to my to do list as the hiding spaces we have are not being used to their full potential.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6
