It's brill you are still gardening with all the prep you are doing. It will be worth it in the long run i think you are doing an amazing job. Your motivation is inspiring and keeps me going when i am doing prep for my work.

It is raining here hope you are ok.

    Thanks DIA and SW

I need to get more garlic growing ready for next year. I'll find some bigger cloves from this year and get them planted up.

I've still got to harvest potatoes, daikon, beets, borlotto beans, spinach and I think a few carrots grew. I've got onions, toms and more spuds in the second garden, but the onions are only just starting to fatten up so they get harvested next year. There's also kale in mine, but that's a winter harvest as and when.

Over Christmas I'll work out how and what I'll be growing next year, I'll also plan my finances but that's going to be pretty much the same as it's been since moving here.

I've started rereading my diary, it gives me a change of words from studies. I'm only up to Sept 2020 and my goodness we did a lot to the garden and flat at that point!

I'll be studying in a bit, also have my first class tomorrow and my next one will be 3 weeks later; 7.30-9pm but also counts towards my CPD, which I'll have to start logging.

Temperature is into single figures now, still have blue sky but autumnal colours are appearing fast.

  • Hope today's studying goes well.

    I love your veggies.

    Thank you DIA and SW

Had a productive study day. Finished the straggling bit on the chapter, did the next 38 page chapter.

I'll check / tweak chapter 3 tomorrow, done off the old book, as I may not want to do a full on condensing session before college class.

Tuesday I'll make a start on the last chapter, 55 pages, and hopefully that will be done by the weekend.

The weekend I can check and tweak the other chapters I did off the old book, fill in any blanks and condense it all into revision notes.

I will have 12 weeks to learn everything, doing 25 hours of revision each week, hope it's enough time!

Managed to have a shower and wash my hair today 😊

Got TomBo to put the thicker duvet on as it's getting cold overnight.

Had leftover lentil and veg soup for tea, got my feet up and watching TV.

I love how much food your garden is still producing. Very impressive.

Thanks SH, we're still getting a lot of sunshine, even though the temperature has dropped and it rains. Need a couple of dry days to harvest more potatoes and hopefully some more red tomatoes.

TomBo put the winter duvet on, so I stayed warm all night instead of having ice cold pain. I'm holding off putting the heating on for as long as I can, but when it is on I'll do it in 15 minute bursts again to keep costs down. I'm making use of my hot water bottle, warm PJs and nice fluffy dressing gown 😊

His bike service cost as much as when he purchased it, doubt I'll have any money from him this month 🤫

Must book my exam today. Got to hope 300+ hours of revision is enough to pass it!

Got 3 pages to finish checking of the one chapter, then the other two chapters to check off the new book. 1 chapter to do from scratch.

Class went well. Although it's not teaching me anything new to what I'm self-teaching, I am able to check I've got the right stuff in my notes. Apparently it's a month until the next class as there's a half-term next week, I think 🙄

In other news, I've secured a PT FTC same job, a lot less hours and obviously a lot less money.  I didn't want to say until I had the contract in my hand in case it the talks didn't amount to anything. For the next couple of years I'll have 5 days a week to dedicate to studying, a bit of gardening to relax and an occasional swim for health benefits. I've already had approval to flip dates when my exams are on, although I didn't say why I wanted to change them, saves what little holiday I have 🤭

It couldn't come at a better time as I've no energy to keep the same pace I have been!

I'll slot in survey's each day to supplement my new income, it will give my brain a break and potentially cover some of the food shopping each month.

It now feels safe to book the exam as I will be able to have a good go at it.  I'll do that when I get up in the morning 🤗

We had chickpea masala rice for tea.

Part time hours sounds much more doable... Will be good if you can keep building up a DB pension too.

Am I allowed to mention P1p as a way of bridging the funds gap?
