  • Thank you SH.

279 days / 9 months 3 days it's taken for the utility company to resolve everything 😶
I've checked comparison sites and directly with some suppliers, my address is now recognised.

In the 279 days since getting the keys we've used 1220 electric units and 488 gas units to date.

The first bills were £436 and pennies. 264 days use for gas and electric; or £1.65 a day if we do basic maths.

In the 23 days between that bill and me providing the next meter readings I'm expecting a bill of £107 and pennies, or £4.65 per day with basic maths.
    - They are not charging me for this bill as a goodwill gesture; had I known I wouldn't have paid all the other bill off!

Let's play at basic maths again:
Add the two bills together and it's £1.94 a day or £710 a year, yet they want £80 odd a month if I stay with them.

In a few days when the bill is produced and the credit applied, I'm emailing the other company to jump ship and test the waters to make sure it's all resolved; I've a complaints handler with the new company who knows the background and helped me get this far.
    - Then switching again after a month or so to an even cheaper big name as I should have nearly a year of used units to get a better idea than my current estimate.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • I'm circulating my photography to an even wider audience of people I don't know, getting very positive feedback and a plan is being formed.

I've been thinking a lot about my art painting and want to revisit the concept I did for my very first one. I've asked TomBo to finish off the window surround caulk in the second bedroom so I can pick up my brushes again.

Surveys are back in full swing, have £10.75 already. I'm checking twice a day as they get randomly added.

Moved a bit of money to savings.

  • Like you I am feeling more creative. There must be something in the air.
I am going to repair my work desk and set up a decent space to work today :)
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

What a nightmare this utility company has been! Hopefully the threat of going over their heads will get them to sort themselves out

Hope the utility stuff gets resolved soon. What a PITA. Glad you are practicing self-care and making time for hobbies. I'm looking forward to April when my holidays restart. Definitely planning on buying extra holidays.

The chimney project sounds great, boo to the utlitity company and a sincere hug for Tombo regarding his job. In this climate it is v common and v scary.
