Why would they get paid less? Studies have shown that productivity increases working less, so you could get paid more.

How about a decorator who takes a week to paint the outside of a house. How can he do that in 4 days?

The 4 day week is probably do-able for people in knowledge/creative industries, but certainly not in manual trades etc where it's simply not possible to increase their personal productivity by 25%.

A 4 day week doesn't seem to boost the politicians' productivity. Of course it doesn't apply to them only to the rest of the people paid £76,000 a year to do basically nothing like our MP.

How do you think units of currency are usually made?

May as well give them to the people that need them, for once.

All through history monetary systems have gone from gold and silver over to currency and back again,

From ww2 upto 1971 the world was using gold backed money, but from 1971 currency of the world because unbacked which means there is no limit to how much currency can be created out of thin air.

Labour can pay for any socialist systems they want by creating unlimited units of currency to pay whatever they want

Until 2008 when the global financial system hit the buffers. 11 years on and the bubble is far from deflated. With the UK already under threat of having it's credit rating downdraded yet again. Politicians need to think carefully before adding more fuel to the fire. If there's no demand for the currency printed then the exchange rate will sink lower and lower. With the result that imported inflation will hit everyone hard in the pockets. Imported inflation being the bad kind where there's no offset.
  • As long as the government print more money to fund it and Every company will have to hire more personal, unemployment will go down even more

Plus people will be out spending one more day per week, faster money valocity great for the economy

Labour are great all round, they are going to come down hard on greedy landlords and property owners and bail out the people instead of the banks and the already rich
Ladies and Gentlemen, I think this person is actually serious, god help them!

Not a great help at the current time of year.
  • It seems whoever can offer the most free stuff and free days of will get the most votes, at the moment labour are offering the most

But the tories 30% discount on new homes on top of upto 40% HTB interest free loans is catching up.

Still weeks to go, let’s see what other offers and deals they can come up with to get voters over...........
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.

Anybody with any sense knows that nothing is for free. Money Governments have only comes from one source. That's us. One suspects the sweet shop approach is a trojan horse for Labour. Tap into sentiment. When the tax revenues aren't forthcoming then the game will change. Then the Middle Classes will be asked to foot the bill.

Never was in my industry (publishing), where the deadlines are always tight and the work is generally very labour intensive. In fact, working in companies, I often worked at weekends (taking work home with me). Now I work freelance, again often six–seven days a week.

I never had a problem with the number of days/hours I worked, since I really liked the job (bar the bureaucrats at the 'top', and meetings about nothing).
