Labours plan 4 day work week, genius

Options
As long as the government print more money to fund it and Every company will have to hire more personal, unemployment will go down even more

Plus people will be out spending one more day per week, faster money valocity great for the economy

Labour are great all round, they are going to come down hard on greedy landlords and property owners and bail out the people instead of the banks and the already rich

Won't really affect you though, will it?
  • This is the real vote winner of the masses.

Everybody would prefer to work only four days a week rather than five

    How does that work then?

I would love one weekday off to work on my own projects

I'm sure I'm not the only one, this will really get the masses voting labour.

As long as they print money or quantitative easing but his time for the people, give it business not banks.

Every business will need to hire more people to make up for the lower workload for each employee

Just like right to buy for tenants, they need to create currency out of thin air to fund these things.

Far better than bailing out banks, Labour are going to bail out the poeple, and this is the vote winner come December

Simple, socialist governments always win the most votes because everybody loves free stuff,

Labour just has to create billions of units of currency out of thin air and give it to the poeple not the banks

So let me get this straight. I would work 4 days a week but still get the same income I do now for 5?

There is a growing amount of evidence that you could be more productive in 4 days than 5 days.

The whole idea of a 40 hour working week was thought up by sociopaths who have no business sense.

There is a problem for people who get paid to sit around waiting for work and cutting that down probably wouldn't have the same effect (I know someone who sits watching movies waiting for customers most days).

But people on the minimum wage will earn less than they do now. Seems a crazy idea.

If only the government could override the laws of nature and change the minimum wage.

We have a large service industry, all the "customer support" type roles where you can't be more productive working less hours. There are some companies who have already implemented a 4 day week with success (sometimes its 4 slightly longer days, so a smaller reduction in total hours worked) and it may continue irrespective of who is in power. Just as a minimum wage has become accepted that main political parties want to increase we may see the idea of a basic income and 4 day week also become the norm, though probably not in the short term.
