Yes, perfectly ok - you work your socks off looking after baby including getting up all hours and lack of sleep, you deserve new PJs and treat yourself to something nice as well

I can see the temptation, but what are you going to tell the gift giver when you see them or send them a thank you note?

I was once in this sort of position. I was bought M&S gift vouchers for one of my children's births. The gift giver gave them because she thought M&S good quality (she said this to me). I found them an expensive shop and could never find anything that I thought 'worth it' for the baby. The result was 2 years on I still had the vouchers unused. I ended up spending them in their food department taking the view that over the years I'd bought baby more than the equivalent £20 that I could have spent at M&S using the vouchers.0 -
"You're very welcome, hope you got something nice for baby, I thought vouchers were better than me buying something as I wasn't sure what size baby was / what he needs

Of course it is ok.
The best present a baby can have is a happy and relaxed mother.0 -

I give my sister and my niece and nephew (both teenagers) money for Christmas and birthdays.
