In summary, use the utility comparison sites but then don't switch via them, go and switch using one of the cash back sites Martin recommends.
E.g. Using a comparison website, I found Scottish Power the best deal for my usage, and made the switch using the cash back website quidco, which is paying £62 for dual fuel switch OR £31 for single fuel switch.

I switched to Scottish Power yesterday via Quidco. I'd checked it out last week and the cashback duel-fuel switch was £90, but they've obviously lowered it to £62 (still a good deal!). However, the cashback is now showing up in my tracker as £90. Scottish Power hasn't yet validated it so who knows if it'll switch to the advertised £62. Fingers crossed! Plus there's the £20 Virgin Wines voucher (slight downside is that a case of wine is about £50-£75).
Sort-of OT: just discovered the Quidco site about two weeks ago, when I switched broadband providers (to O2, with £100 cashback deal!). So it's been a good month for moneysaving :cool:0 -
Am thinking of using energy helpline to switch electricity provider. Does anyone know how they pay their cashback. Do you fill in bank details on their website?0

I chose to switch to edf via quidco a week ago, tempted by the £60 cashback which should make it the best deal for me. However, the transaction still does not appear on the 'my earnings' page and so I fear that it might not be tracking as the average track is 3 days according to the merchant information. I don't want to lose this £60 and don't want to wait too long before doing something about it. It's too early to raise a ticket with quidco so I thought about contacting edf and cancelling my switch during the 12 day cooling-off period and then trying to sign up to the deal again through quidco checking that all of the firewall, cache and cookie settings are properly sorted this time. Do you think this is my best option?0

I recently used a website called QuoteWarehouse.co.uk and saved £250 by switching from Southern Electric to an online EDF tariff. I wouldn't usually switch over the internet but the savings seemed too good to be true! The form was really simple and easy to use too, looking forward to spending the spare money on Christmas!0

But if you switched with them you didn't earn cashback, which is the point of this discussion thread - seems like you might just be promoting this site.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

No problem if you are new and want to offer advice or ask for advice but you have made 2posts so far, both of which include this website name and you have been searching the forums for threads relating to electricity and gas comparison.
New users can't post links for a reason and that is to stop potential spam. Just wanted to point it out.
Glad you have saved money on your utilities, unfortunatley had you joined before you switched you could have earned cashback for yourself on the switch.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Furthermore, that website was only established in July this year and is based on a huge number of pay per click pages.
... but you didn't earn any money from me as sedoparking.com redirect pages are blocked for me
