I switched to a capped tarif in may, if I was to switch again and get cashback, could I switch again in a month or 2 if the prices do come down?

I've switched from Scottish power to Npower via uswitch website and got the £30 cashback, however when I left I was in credit at Scottish power however they will not refund the money until they get a reading from the new provider, even though this has been sent twice now by npower, what do you suggest, its over 6 months now since I switched?0

We're moving house in late January. How can I make sure I get the best deal for my gas and electricity?
Do I need to stay with the vendors providers and then change once we've moved in?
Thanks,

If supplier goes bust the electricity will be supplied by another supplier appointed by the regulator Ofgem. Please learn from the link http://news.stv.tv/business/35769-british-gas-snaps-up-stranded-e4b-power-customers/ as an example (E4B - small business energy supplier)0 -
Hi, I switched to Scottish Power Fixed Price Enercy Online NSC in September as recommended by Martin. I pay £109 per month but am £191 in credit so far.
Would it be adviseable to switch to another supplier now?
I have been through MoneySupermarket and it came up with the suggestion that I would save nearly £200 a year switching to EDF energy. Unfortunately, I have not been really been following the news regarding gas and electricity price changes and have not seen anything in the news that would suggest that prices are falling...
Can anyone help me? Have price dropped dramatically? Is there any point in my switching from my current supplier at the moment? Are there any more suitable tariffs out at the moment?
I'm having a baby soon and what with the recession and everything, I really would like to shrink our monthly outgoings.
Many thanks0 -
Right. Here goes.. I switched last March from E-on to Ebico because E-on increased the price by about 40%. Originally £220pa up to £300pa
Switching to Ebico offset the price increase back to nothing. However in October Ebico increased the price by 25-30%. £220pa to £275pa
Now last month I have switched yet again to Scottish Power (£87.50 cashback deal on quidco) with a discount for direct debit and online billing. This appears to make my bill reduce from £275pa to £255pa.
Now I've just got through all the paperwork and they want to charge £28pm which makes an annual bill of £336. I want to know if I have made a mistake somewhere or are they simply trying to charge a higher direct debit. That was the reason I stopped paying by Direct Debit with E-ON. I ended up getting a cheque back from them after leaving.
Can I get them to reduce the direct debit to what I have budgeted for and that should be £22pm?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If you have the data you can ask. They do not need to accept. If you can not reach an agreement they can put you off the direct debit rates back to quarterly billing.Did you not just go through this with Eon?

I found Scottish Power pretty good at administration and we agreed a direct debit that came out at the end of the year correct to about 12 GBP.
Initially they wanted about an extra 10 GBP per month.
Expect demanding Emails asking you to read your meter regularly, if you are on the on-line deal.0 -
Today I received my 6 monthly gas and electric bills from Atlantic. The gas bill was £41 in credit and they say that they will carry it forward to my next bill. My electric bill was £6 in debit and they say they will alter my DD so I pay and extra £11 a month. I phoned them but they still want £2 per month extra for the electric. Cheeky sods!!:mad:0

The gas/electric article was last updated in November saying that prices might come down in Januray so not to switch just yet - is there any update on this? Are price cuts still expected?
Cheers
