After waiting patiently I finally realised that it had been too long and rang them, only to be told that they do not "automatically" repay the money, but wait until customers ring and request it!!!!! There is no mention of this "policy" anywhere on the bill.
I was gobsmacked, got agitated, and have asked for a manager to ring back and explain themselves.
Is this practise legal? Anyone else affected by this? Who should I complain to?
Waited for an NPower manager to phone me as agreed. And waited. Three weeks - nothing, and they STILL haven't refunded the outstanding balance. Tonight I phoned their "Specialist Complaints Team" and waited on hold for another 20 minutes, only to be told they are all busy, but someone will call me back. Pointed out they told me the same thing 3 weeks ago, and that they have still not refunded money owed since early October. Got apologies, sympathy and promises - in other words: nothing!
If you are an ex-Npower customer may I suggest you check that they actually repaid your outstanding balance, as they appear to have rather sticky fingers. :money:0 -
Hi, I applied for the Scottish Power fix rate which was recommended here and went through the link.
I have received my welcome letter but there is no mention of the £50 incentive.
It states "CAMPAIGN CODE D6DLB" under my account reference.
Has anybody else had this.
Thank You0 -
Hi,
I applied for the scottish power fix rate with the £20 cashback as advertised in Martins email. Like you I was concerned because no mention of the cashback at all in either the welcome email or the letter through the post. I phoned them up AND emailed the customer service - both of which useless - they seemd unawre of the MSE offer. However the second time I phoned I got a bloke who seemed to know what he was talking about, and he confirmed my application did qualify for the cashback - I believe it will arrive as a cheque 4-8 weeks after they start supplying the power. Pretty unimpressed with the customer service TBH - would have thought they should all know which campaigns they are running.0 -
HI folks anyone that applies uusing the MSE link for £50 cashback gets a special campaign code like the one noted above which links the application to the offer. Junketer is right we will give the cashback after the transfer of supply and you have been with us for a number of weeks.
Sorry if this has not been made clear when you have called, our Customer Service staff should all be aware of the offer.
If anyone wants any specific help please e-mail onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com Thanks David“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Scottish Power. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Thanks David for making that clear - have just checked my letter and it does have the campaign code - I feel reassured now.0

I was called back the following morning and my money has finally been refunded. :cool:0 -
Glad you got a result finally.
It is appalling that you had to jump through so many hoops to get it.
Hope you registered a formal complaint so this kind of behaviour is registered in their complaints statistics.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

You'll see the campaign number on the letter you get rather than on the reference you get at the end of the application process.0
