  • One of the cheapest, if not the cheapest is Marks and Spencer Energy.
At present they have not increased their prices and have the ability to fix their present prices until the end of Feb 2014. They are working in conjunction with SSE who also have the only 5 Star Customer Service in the industry !!
Worth and look as everyone else is fixing at either new prices or including a premium !!!!

They might not have raised their prices yet, but they will probably soon.

Q2. If e.on comes up cheapest in a comparison site, why when one visits the e.on website e.on do everything BUT spell out the unit price ? (If someone can provide a link to e.on's unit prices I would be very grateful).

Sorry Tarian, only just spotted your question.

To see our unit prices online, you need to click 'Get a Quote' on the first page of the website. Then, follow the instructions through to the page all available tariffs are shown.

If you then click 'review plan' on the tariff you're looking at, the unit prices are shown on the next page - about half way down.

    Hope this helps.

  • Argghhh, it's that time of year again!

Why can't it just be made simple, 1 daily standing charge, and one unit rate per fuel.

Even if they give dual fuel and direct debit discounts i can handle that. Stop telling me the average usage when i know exactly what i use!!!
  • I've done all my comparing and N-power seems to be the cheapest on there new tariff until 2014..........

I'm already with N-power of the online save 23 which ends at the end of the month,

On the off chance does anyone know of any sites which offer cashback on changing tariffs not providers?

If you don't ask you don't get :P

What are you finding so difficult to follow in the article linked to?

Use a comparison site to get the best deal for you

If you want simple, choose Ebico.
You won't get any simpler, but you probably won't be getting the cheapest either (unless a very low user or on PPM)

A comparison site will show whether the simplest is the cheapest for you :)

If you are not interested in moneysaving, are you sure you have come to the correct forum?

    No.

Cashback is effectively funded by the supplier's marketing budget and reflects the value of attracting a new customer.

You could always ask the supplier directly if they are prepared to pay a retention fee to retain you as a customer.
As you say, if you don't ask, you don't get.
But if the supplier can see they are the cheapest supplier for you, they know only a fool will switch to a more expensive supplier if they refuse ;)

Credit meter installed at 16:00 today

Started the switching process to Co-Op at 17:30.

Byebye Ebico/SSE, now as I paid for my meter will you let us go without a fight (no contract was mentioned on the phone).

Potential saving (based on the intial DD set-up by Ebico of £55 a month) is £140.59 a year :)

If you only started the switching process at 17.30h, then I suspect Ebico were not even aware of it just 25 minutes later ;)

You should get a 'sorry you are leaving us' letter within the next 2 weeks, but there are definitely no tie-ins or early termination fees with Ebico :)

I hope you did the comparison based on annual consumption in kWh (or even annual consumption in £ as you are on a very simple tariff from Ebico) as comparing monthly payment figures could be very inaccurate.

Because 3 weeks ago you claimed your annual consumption was just £300 p.a. yet £55 p.m obviously relates to over twice that amount!

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56941123&postcount=11

I can't see anyone who pays just £300 a year with Ebico being able to save almost half of that with another supplier.

I suggest you recheck and, if necessary, take advantage of the cooling off period you are in :)
