My existing tariff with Npower is coming to an end next month. I've searched a couple of the comparison sites and they all bring Npower Bill Saver Aug. 2013 as my best option although it comes out at about £50 more expensive per year than what I'm on now. My question is can I change tariff through a comparison site but keep the same supplier and get cashback? I had been going to just phone Npower and ask for new tariff but if I qualify for cashback that would be even better.Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)

We have for several years had our Gas & Electricity from OVO and when we look at swtching other firm's don't come close and although they do not pay Feed In Tariff for Solar Panels there are independent companies that will pay the FIT payment.0

Hi there,
Just a quick question:
Is it okay to switch energy tariffs using a switching service even if it's to the same utility company?
I want to take advantage of the cashback but the tariff switch is from nPower to nPower.
Has anyone done this already?
Thanks

From Quidco under nPowers Terms & conditions- Cashback is only available to new npower customers, on the tariffs listed here at the time of your switch (cashback is not available on all npower tariffs).
- If you are already with npower and change your existing tariff, you will not be eligible.

I am on a fixed price deal with N-Power that is coming to an end.
It includes a deferred rebate and N-Power are proposing to put me onto standard tariff.
I want to get the end of contract kick back but obviously I don't want to be on the standard variable rate.
How do I handle my switching notification to achieve both objectives?0 -

Do your t&c's state if they hear you wish to switch inside X days.
Switching takes 21 days from the day after your cooling off period ends, however your actual switch date is inside the 21 days usually allowing 7 days after the cooling off period expires for the old supplier to object.
So, you could time your switch so that your cooling off period ends and you state to the new supplier that you need them to inform your old supplier of the switch date by X date. X date would be inside the notice in the t&c's.
If no allowance in the t&c's, again time your switch but ask your new supplier to use a switch date as close to your contract end date as possible. This way you only pay standards rates for a very short period of time, possibly a week?
You just need to make sure your switch date is after your anniversary date to get the deferred discount.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

I had a similar thing today with Scottish Power via MS site...the offer for £70 cashback was greyed out as I already have electric from SP. Was changing to dual fuel.m I rang scottish gas and said I was going to EDF who came out cheaper without the cashback. The customer services spoke to someone and got me £50 cashback to remain with them. As I pointed out they would otherwise lose a new gas customer as well as an existing customer. Always worth a punt at getting a discount:T Unfortunately money savings lost out on their credit for the transferral:(. Interestingly I caused havoc at the sales dept as the tarriff offered on MS was not set up at scottish power yet! (Nov 13 fixed tarrif) It seems to have disapeared from MS site now also:question:0
