Parking Charge Notice- Newlyn

Hello, I’m after some advice on parking charge notices so hopefully someone can help!
I received a parking charge notice last August (2018) in the private car park where I used to live. Although it sounds unbelievable I was on holiday and the hot weather had melted the glue on my permit and it had fallen off! I appealed but was unsuccessful. The parking space in question was actually owned by me as it came with the purchase of the flat and I have proof from the land registry that this is the case.
I have now since moved and having received letters from Gladstone’s solicitors saying legal action may be taken I’m now receiving letters from Newlyn PLC. The first claimed that I now owe in excess of £300 and it also claimed I have a CCJ against me, but having done a search on trust online (which gov.uk recommend I do) my name and address came back clear with no record of any CCJs so they have lied about this. I’ve now received a final notice from them threatening that an ‘agent’ may turn up at my house or they’ll claim the fine from my wages etc.
I’ve read some awful things about Newlyn taking people’s cars etc (although think this was based on unpaid fines through local councils rather than private parking tickets) so I just wondered what to do next? Do they have any legal jurisdiction at all? Should I just leave it?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Thanks for the reply! The Newlyn letter states that they have been instructed by Gladstone solicitors on behalf of UK Car Park management to recover an unpaid county court judgement. But I’ve never received a county court judgment in the post and like I mentioned above a search I did against my name and address came back clear?0

Please confirm which parking company it is as you have quoted two entirely different ppc's above.1

Thanks for the reply. The parking company are UKPC.
Gladstones don't deal with UKPC.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks so much for your help! I looked on the newbie thread and there was so much helpful information.
One thing I am still confused/worried about...I’ve checked my Experian credit score this evening and according to that I do have court data against my name but the trust online search came back clear? Any idea with this one or a point in the right direction of where to go with this? I haven’t received anything through the post referring to a county court judgement either?0 -
Ask Gladstones for a copy of the claim form, under your rights under the GDPR, and ask what addresses they hold for you.
Then when you have the claim form (and DO NOT wait too long!) crack on with setting aside the scam CCJ as per the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
