Vendor denies fault in new Bosch washing machine

Bosch washing machine
Bought February 2019
Vendor - local Euronics store
Paid by card
Detergent drawer overflowing down front of machine (with liquid as well as powder detergent)
Washing has white detergent scum marks after cycle finished.
Delicate fabrics on delicate setting are losing their properties and mis-shapen
The software seems to advance the rinse cycles continually, making a 2 hour wash up to three hours long
Vibration of machine increasing but it is adjusted level using spirit level
Vendor arranged a Bosch service engineer as we have a 2 year guarantee and its nine months old.
Bosch man took 20 minutes to report that the machine function is 'within spec'.
Have had brief follow-up conversation with vendor who only seems to want to talk about vibration (not such a major issue as others) saying that machines vibrate more when on timber joisted floors instead of solid concrete floors. No comment on other more serious issues.
Best solution would be for vendor to remove machine and supply another make of similar quality (AEG?) and I am prepared to pay more if necessary
What do you think please?

After 6 months the onus is on you to show it is an inherent fault with the machine. As the Bosch engineer has more or less said it's fine then you are going to have to commision your own report.
Are you putting too much powder in the machine. Have you done an empty cycle on its hottest setting to see if this 'cleans' the system? Despite what the ads say some washing powders don't fully dissolve at low temperatures.0 -
Do a very hot wash with a couple of handfuls of washing soda crystals - if there is powder residue this will clean it out. Then switch to liquid - using half the measure recommended and a handful of soda crystals per wash.
Also, make sure that you are not putting too much or too little clothing in the machine for the cycle chosen - both of which can cause the timing to be extended as the machine struggles to distribute the load correctly.0 -
Bosch enginner finds no fault .
Disagree then pay a local washing machine guy to give you a report .0 -
It sounds more like the machine isn't being used properly. Too much detergent being used, overloading the machine, not running cleaning cycles, and possibly even a filter blockage (although the engineer most likely checked that)0

As you only reported a fault after 9 months presumably it was working as expected up to that point?
My 4 month old Bosch machine has a "drum clean" cycle - worth trying if yours has one.
I always use liquid detergent with the dispenser you place in the drum - I only put softener in the dispenser drawer.
I've never used the delicate cycle - mines 30 degree wash and 600 rpm spin - because I don't want to find out the hard way what it would do to hundreds of pounds worth of clothes. I hand wash all my silk, knitted linen and woolens.
My machine is the quietest I have ever owned, but the one time I heard any vibration noise was during the high spin cycle with a large load of towels which were unbalanced within the drum. Perhaps you are overloading it. In addition to the possible issues with the flooring is there a reasonable distance between the machine and the walls/ unit carcasses on either side? If the gap is very small then the machine may well be vibrating against them, increasing the noise - my old machine made a real racket when, over time, it had gradually juddered it's way nearer to one of the adjacent units but the noise stopped when I moved it away by a centimetre.0 -
We replaced our old Bosch W/M with a new Bosch three months ago.
The new M/C is much more effective and gives a much better wash than the old one. The biggest difference we've noticed is that the new machine needs much less detergent (powder or liquid) than the old one.
We had suds flowing out of the top of the dispenser drawer (almost always a sign of too much detergent) the first couple of times we used it and we've simply used less detergent in future washes. Check your user manual as to what to do when this happens.
If it's not progressing through the washing cycles properly, either the pump needs to be cleaned (refer to the manual again) or the control panel is bu99ered (which is why we needed a new one). This could be a fault or it could be user damage.
Try cleaning out the pump and also use the Drum Clean program as suggested above. (ours supposedly flashes when a clean is needed but we clean it with soda crystals every 6 -8 weeks anyway.
(If you live in Norfolk I know a very good independent repair man. He's always been able to fix our W/M when out of warranty and when he told us we needed a new one, we knew he meant it).
Edit: Didn't the Bosch engineer acknowledge any problems with cycles progressing? When our old m/c was pronounced not worth repairing, our independent engineer ran a programme and witnessed the problem itself. He said "The control panel's broke".0 -
When the pump filter becomes full of water, it can cause the machine to vibrate more, especially on spin cycles. These need regular cleaning (see previous post)If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Thank you all for your responses, so I had better qualify my statement a little more !
We are both late middle age and have used washing machines for 40 years. We have had several Bosch machines - because we think they are good. We have a second machine in another property which never lets us down.
I am also something of an engineer and understand the logic of machinery - and software.
The performance of the machine in question has declined this past 4 months.
We are just a couple, so do not have large family loads. Largest load being a duvet maybe a couple of times a year. No horse blankets or sleeping bags etc. Preferring to do more moderately sized loads than stuff the thing full of clothing.
It is in a cupboard with no adjacent worktops/cabinets with at least 150mm space on all 4 sides and sits in a spill tray (are we glad we bought that).
The discharge tube runs into a conventional vertical syphon pipe with open vent around the tube. (i.e. no restriction).
When we use powder we use half the recommended amount. For quite some time we have only used liquid - through the drawer.
I have checked the filter several times and never found anything in it.
We have run the cleaning cycle several times, and there are no suds visible through the door glass, therefore no residual detergent in the machine.
The 'foaming' warning light has never illuminated.
I think it is a software problem but the Bosch engineer did not have any diagnostic equipment that one might expect him to possess.
I did buy it from our local washing machine man ! - Euronics retailer of many years standing.
Any more ideas please?0 -

I'm sure as "something of an engineer and understand the logic of machinery - and software." you shouldn't have much problems in doing so0
