The driver was dropping a friend of at the train station late one evening, unfamiliar with the area and train station the driver assumed that this open area directly next to the entrance of the train station tracks, looked like a car park with no lighting whatsoever which was directly next to the train tracks was the drop off or pickup point. ( Usually very small train stations don't charge for parking unless its long term or they have a drop off/ pickup point.) So the driver and the friend waited for the train to arrive and their letter states the car was parked for 21 minutes and then left. The lighting was very poor and it was very dark. Later on to find out the land was private car park of a hotel that barely even looked like it was running properly once revisited the station during daytime.
Couple of extra points I think you should know is the pictures they sent of the vehicle are both extremely dark images which show the poor lighting since you can only see the number plates basically. Also as I mentioned the pathway to get to the tracks is literally in front of the carpark where the vehicle was parked. Later on I went to revisit to contact the landowner and complain when I tried contacting the hotel. They did not look like they were even operating no facebook page no answers to phone calls and no emails or anything to find them. No website barely anything, I did have a wonder and manage to find the entrance and it turns out there were some people at the reception desk but the whole building was empty and was extremely quiet looked very dodgy. I asked to speak to the manager about the parking ticket and she said she would tell them or email them I can't remember it was so long ago. I will attach a few pictures below so you can see what I mean. How this is clearly a trap. 0 0

Now that the correct ppc is established another anomaly seems to be present which hopefully can be explained (after all a SoT is involved). In the following post (9.11.2019 at 3.46PM) the OP seems to stating different circumstances as to the parking event:-"Its a really small shopping village no bigger than one tesco superstore for example, Nothing was open no nearby shops or nothing it was pitch black 5am and I was tired from driving so long, just stopped and had a quick break from driving before continuing my journey home. I just sat in the car.It was an anpr yes must've been."Nothing about dropping off a friend at a train station.3

That is why I decided not to get involved with this thread , too many anomalies , different parking companies. Different locations , different circumstances , no continuity , no train of thought regarding one location , one event , one company
It's like dealing with more than one person posting in the thread , nothing makes sense , hence a dragons den I'm out !!

I see now that you have mentioned it. I can see why everyone is confused. You see when the case originally started I had thought the location etc was at another place as mentioned the picture proof they sent you could not see anything but the number plate and doesn't show any signs of location. Once I got the LBC I began to take it seriously and then found out it was from the PPC next to the train station. The shopping village part I mentioned was because I thought it was from them that's how ridiculous this claim actually is. I've deleted the part about the shopping village to stop people reading the thread from scratch which would've caused confusion. I do apologise I can see why people are getting confused now.Redx said:That is why I decided not to get involved with this thread , too many anomalies , different parking companies. Ok , just go through this thread and ensure all your posts relate to this correct place and claim , post the DEFENCE if it's not already posted and some details about the PCN and the PoC , particulars of claim, total amount claimed and the breakdown including spurious charges like debt collection
Adapt your WS to include exhibit numbers that refer to your exhibits , plus your summary costs assessment
The WS is not just the story that you posted earlier , it needs setting out and the exhibits listed to support your WS and defence1

Ok I understand. regarding their witness statement they sent I don't need to include some of their points in my own do I?Redx said:Ok , just go through this thread and ensure all your posts relate to this correct place and claim , post the DEFENCE if it's not already posted and some details about the PCN and the PoC , particulars of claim, total amount claimed and the breakdown including spurious charges like debt collection

Rebut everything you possibly can , so yes use their words against them1

So I read on another thread that I don't have to print and post anything out for this witness statement. Am I correct that I can just email all my evidence and WS to the court and also to gladstones.Redx said:Rebut everything you possibly can , so yes use their words against them0

that is usually the case since the march lockdown, but only your local court can give you the definitive answer, not this forum , so check the orders from your court and their website if available, do not assume it is the same for all of them , its not
