  • Also, might be a bit late now asYou’ve got a new one - but I’ve smashed a few phones now and managed to fix them all with new screens etc bought off ebay for a tenner and followed really easy YouTube repair instructions. Worth keeping in mind if it happens in the future!

We've repaired phones before so it's not been too bad. This one was well and truly dead. No screen damage, it just won't switch on. We've still got it though and we'll see what we can do. If we can repair it we'll sell it on.

Yesterday I took the day off work for us to get to the registrar and fill in the forms needed. Queue yesterday morning getting ready to go and my OH finding that she couldn't find are folder that has everything it it. Birth certificate, deed poll paperwork etc. All the things she needed for the meeting and we couldn't find them. Long story short, we cancelled the meeting and have turned the house upside down trying to find them but to no avail. OH believes she last had the forms when she registered at a new doctors and so we called them and the hospital where she was last month but it's not been handed in. Today we've spent close to £100 getting new paperwork sent across.

In car news. The other fuel injector was fitted and it turned out that the one that died was the original one we bought. So they've replaced it with the new one we got and the car is back to working fine. @db, they had tried cleaning it all out the first time we took it to the garage over a month ago. OH is now on a mission to call the place where we got the injector and get our money back as the part was clearly faulty. We have the car back and the garage only charged us £81 for the diags and fitting and tested the part. They're a good bunch at this garage.

New (refurbed) phone has arrived and we cancelled our SIM only deal that my OH had got. When we get the cash back we can use that to pay off my phone and I'll move to a SIM only deal.

We're hoping now that we're starting to see a light. We still need to put aside what we can next month and then get the full registrar fee paid. We're seeing them on the 4th Feb.

  • In better news. I made £40 last night from sorting my next door neighbour's PC out. My PA account is now up to £6.50, OnePoll is at £8.45. I've got enough for a £10 voucher for Toluna but I'm saving for the £35 PayPal payout on that.I've also go enough for another £5 Amazon voucher at iSay. I don't need anything from Amazon at the minute though.

  • Now I'm seriously starting to getting annoyed. My OH went out on Saturday to a convention she was working at and on route the car started playing up again. Same issue as before. Lot's of juddering and the red and amber check engine lights came out. She has managed to get to the convention and limp it home afterwards. So that will know be back in the garage today. Oh, and if that wasn't enough our vacuum cleaner has just died.

With no access to credit and a dwindling bank account this is really starting to get to me.

  • Car is in the garage. They're going to pull it apart pretty much and try and see what is going on.

We've managed to get a Washer/Dryer for £50. It's pretty new and only has a slight leak at the door which my OH says is easily fixable. It's so much quieter than our old one.

In other news. My PA account is now up to a £10. I've got enough in i-Say for a £5 Amazon voucher and OnePoll is at £8.70.

I hope we're all doing well.

  • Morning all.

In health news, I'm feeling like crap at the moment. Tooth ache, ear ache and some sort of bug that means I'm coughing a lot and constantly feeling out of breath and energy. I rolled into bed at 9 last night and didn't wake up until 6 this morning.

Littlest is also poorly and at 6 she came crying into our room. Eyes all gunked up with conjunctivitis and she was so hot. I left the room to make the coffees and then she projectile vomited. Docs for her today.

In better news. We're getting the car back today. The garage have cleaned out the fuel lines and injectors and swapped injector 1 and 4 around to test. It's running fine they reckon after an 18 mile drive. They've not charged us the two hour labour in case it needs to come back in. That will buy us some time.

My PA account is up to £10.94. £9.50 with OnePoll.

Food shopping done at £43. That should see us clear for the next week or so.

  • Further good news. No council tax to pay for Feb and March. That's £260 I can put aside to prop up the EF.

Oh dear, sorry to see the gems have hit your household in a big way.

Hopefully nothing else will go wrong with appliances/cars so you can start to build a bit of a fund again, as soon as you do it all looks a little bit more doable although you're doing well and appear to be taking it all in your stride.
  • Thank you bd80s.

We're trying. I've had my odd wobble here and there and being unwell doesn't help but on the whole trying to be positive.

  • I decided to pop into Halifax today and see if I could get to the £250 I put in a Regular Saver account. I thought it was only money in for 12 months. Well, I managed to get it out and close the account. All my Halifax accounts are closed bar the CC now.

With the £250 transferred to my Starling account I've now moved it to various Spaces. I now have enough in the Registrar account again and enough for this months mobile phone bill. With the outgoings we've had that's not too bad. I still feel like we're treading water but at least our heads are above the surface.
