I've let myself down a little. I walked into o2 and paid off the rest of my phone's contract. I was then prepared to walk away and get the 8gb for £8 deal with 3 but ended up sticking with o2. It's gone from £19 a month to £15 a month but with an extra 4gb to a 10gb package. The SIM is my OHs and she does use the data when she is out and about.

Sorted phone out with phonecall to o2 last night. Now got a Sim Only deal for £10 and 8gb of data. That and reducing the package our iPad is on as we don't really use the data we're getting there.

I've also cancelled a convention we were going to next year. We were paying £18 a month for it plus hotel but we can get 80% back if we cancel now and save the £18 a month. So, we're getting £175 back.

In total I've saved us £41 a month so far.

Surveys wise, I'm now up to £8 with PA and getting close to £5 each on some other sites.

I hope we're all doing well and thanks to those still reading and replying. It means a lot to me that I don't feel alone in trying to tackle the debt.

Well done for sorting the phone out :)

The thing about budgeting is that it's actually all the 'little' saves that make such a big difference in the long run. The old saying 'look after the penny's and the pounds take care of themselves' should be made into big posters for us put in our homes. :D

You've made a fantastic start, so well done you. :j

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

It's official. I might be slightly addicted to doing surveys. It's just so handy when I've got a spare moment and I'm able to have the Prolific Academic website open at work and do the odd survey that comes up. I'm now up to £12.51 on there. I'm gonna cash out at the end of the month and put the money straight into my EF.

Well done for the amounts you've been able to save, reducing monthly spends really does help and makes you feel so much more up for continuing with the 'fight'

Thanks for all the support. It means a lot.

Other pleasing news. The fuel in the car should last until I am away for work next week and my partner shouldn't use too much so that'll last. Work are giving me some cash to cover food for next week so I don't have to wait for any money back.

Additionally, we've just ordered our next shop which I'm collecting later. This brings our groceries up to £160 for the month so far so I'm really pleased with that.
