  • Well done Only Pariah. you have made some sound progress already! I am still calculating my food spends but hoping to be more organised with that in future myself.
I am glad you have the money for your food as well. nothing worse than having to wait for those sorts of payments. Keep up the good work. :)

  • Mixed bag of things this time 'round.

Finished my week of training for work and it went well. A week of breakfast, lunch and dinners paid for by the company is always good. However, when I got back home I headed out to pick up my boy from his mums. The car died on me on arrival and I needed to get a tow back home. Getting the Green Flag cover really paid for itself. It does seem though that the fuel injector has gone and so we've got to get that sorted now.

Couple that with having to buy a new Cricut machine for my partners home business and we're going to be several hundred pounds down. The money we had saved will be gone and so we'll have to start saving for the wedding all over again.

The silver lining in all this is that I'd started putting the money aside in the first place. I need to think of the positives. Life does like to kick ya whilst you're down.

That silver lining is exactly what you need to focus on. trust me, I have seen so much that life can throw at you and best laid plans are still subject to change. You will find a way to get back on it. This is just a hiccough. Hoping your next couple of updates hold some happier news for you. :)

  • In good news. I checked out £14.43 from PA and got a £5 Amazon voucher from i-say. I've currently also to £1.13 on Google's Opinion Rewards and have 30,000 points with Toluna. It's all adding up.

  • Up to £3 on PA again already and the money from last lot hit my account.

News from the garage about the car. The fuel injector for cylinder 1 has gone. We can source a refurb one for £59 plus the hours labour to fit. Also £16 for each glow plug that needs replacing, I think it takes 4. Plus the time to install that. Should be around £200 so it's a heck of a dent but hopefully not too much of one.

  • I've got a meeting at the job centre on Friday about our universal credit application. My partner has gone through her part with them. This seems to have triggered something in the bowels of local government. Today my partner has received a letter saying that she owes over £4,000 in tax credits from the last time she claimed.

Do you sometimes feel you're battling uphill?

Hope you’re ok after the £4,000 tax credit news.

You sound super well-organised and highly motivated. You can do this.

    Good luck.

  • Thank you so much for your kind words.

Got the car back yesterday. Cost £228 in the end so it could have been far worse. Unfortunately during my drive to work this morning the engine was juddering again. Only intermittently but it doesn't seem to be fixed.

In better news. I'm near to another £5 Amazon voucher through i-Say. I need to get a new mobile phone case so I'm holding out for the voucher to help with that. I'm also up to £6 on PA. I only started doing PA on the 14th Nov and I've already earned £20 from it. It all helps.

I've got my UC interview this afternoon to complete the application. It seems that we won't get anything though as they'll use it to pay off the 4k my partner owes. It's a very bizarre system.
