TheAA (Richford) stole my car

The AA were under the impression their subcontractor had delivered it, remember?Manxman_in_exile wrote: »Yeah - it was stupid and irresponsible of the OP to leave it for a year, but if he was assured by the AA that they'd sort everything out and he relied on that, then I'd say the AA were stupid and irresponsible too. (I can only speculate as to what would be a "good" reason for the OP to leave it so long - but that doesn't mean they could not have had one).
Because nobody told them otherwise.
It was only when the OP raised the failure to deliver that the AA discovered their subcontrator still had it.- 25.10.2019 I've visit the garage and ask about final calculation after car repare and it;s sale. and they told me that the car was never been delivered.
- 04.11.2019 I've contact AA and ask about this problem and they told me that according they documents car was delivered to my garage.
- 04.11.2019 I've raise the complain about hteir service and AA discovered that my car is kept at Rinford...
Indeed. But a year later, nobody can say what went wrong. If I were an AA member I'd expect them to recover my car and take it to a garage of my choice, if that's what the service I'm buying says. From the OP's version of events they haven't done so.0 -
From your story, I'm guessing the vehile is a DeLorean?

Reading this had reminded me that I've left my Fiesta parked in Droitwich High St in 2003.

The AA were under the impression their subcontractor had delivered it, remember?
.
Were they?
"Monday (year ago) I was on the phone. Richford request storage fee, but i've complain to AA and they promise to sort it - they give me letter about it."
"AA clearly promise to deliver broken car to the garage of my choice during the normal business hours, no matter where and when the break down will take place.
And after first delivery fail, they promise to do it again. (they;ve send me a letter about it)
How can I be responsible for their subcontractors?"
"If after complain they clearly told me that they resolve everything and car will be delivered within few hours... are they responsible for they words?"
"- 09.11.2018 morning I have one more conversation with complaint team, They confirm that the broken car will be delivered this day, all Richford fee will be voided and they send me a letter (We believe we have resolved this matter for you however, if you have any additional concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact us, using the details provided.)"
As I said in my post which you quoted, the OP has not behaved particularly cleverly and has been irresponsible. But, if what they say is correct, it's pretty clear that the AA have not provided the service he was paying for. It would also appear that (again assuming what the OP says is true) that he complained to the AA initially and they told him that they'd sort everything out. Given that the AA were aware that there'd been a problem with delivery to the garage and that they'd undertaken to get it resolved, they should have made sure it was done, and not just assumed it had been done.
Yes - the OP is at fault for leaving it a year and not (presumably) leaving a forwarding address on their "travels", but the AA hasn't done what they said they'd do.0 -
I presume you read me quoting this...Manxman_in_exile wrote: »Were they?- 04.11.2019 I've contact AA and ask about this problem and they told me that according they documents car was delivered to my garage.
And they have it on their records as done. Because they arranged for it to be done, trusted their sub, and nobody told them otherwise. But, if what they say is correct, it's pretty clear that the AA have not provided the service he was paying for. Even assuming there was no further communication from their sub themselves, given that the OP had been chasing them, then didn't follow up to say "It's not been done!", it's not hard to see how that's happened.
Like I said - at this remove, trying to be forensic about what happened is pointless.0 -
Whoops! I'd missed that bit from 4 November.0

It took him a year to realise there was a problem ...... really?
Did he not wonder where is the money for the sale?
This story is so far fetched it must be true. Walter Mitty could not make this up?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Is there a shade of darkness to this matter?0
