TheAA (Richford) stole my car

Monday (year ago) I was on the phone. Richford request storage fee, but i've complain to AA and they promise to sort it - they give me letter about it.You really should have been on the phone on the Monday sorting/checking that the car was dropped off at the garage and then to the garage to discuss repairs etc.
Why did you not do this. ?
I really fail to see how you could "forget" about it for a year unless there is a lot more to the story
100% your own fault - I would suggest very improbable bordering on unbelievable in my opinion
And then i've been abroad for a long time and have a lot of other problems.0 -
So you broke down on a Saturday...including smashed windows...you call the AA who send out a subcontractor, they take the car to a secure location to store until the garage of your choice is open. You call them on Monday and they ask for a fee, you call the AA who say they will sort it out. You then leave the country and ignore your car for a year...
What are you trying to achieve now? You want the AA to cover the storage fee for a year and your car to be dropped at the garage? That's not going to happen!0 -

Other words, AA can take any car on the road, lock in in the subcontractors garage and request "release fee" or "storage fee"? BTW, for the first sunday night they charge me 250GBP.

If you agree that they can do it - then it will be very interesting business.0 -
And then i've been abroad for a long time and have a lot of other problems.
And how is that the fault of the AA or Richford?
If it was the original few days, the AA may have paid the few days storage charge. You cannot expect them to pay for a full year of storage through no fault of their own.0 -

Pay the fee to get your car back, or tell them you wish them to dispose of it, put the proceeds towards their storage fee and hope that covers it. If not, they'll probably pursue you for the difference.Sorry, was a bit nervous to explain it correctly before....
And really I don;t know what should I do now.
I'm afraid this is a problem entirely of your own making.0 -

No, they can't, but that's not what's happened here.Other words, AA can take any car on the road, lock in in the subcontractors garage and request "release fee" or "storage fee"? BTW, for the first sunday night they charge me 250GBP.

AA clearly promise to deliver broken car to the garage of my choice during the normal business hours, no matter where and when the break down will take place. And how is that the fault of the AA or Richford?

And after first delivery fail, they promise to do it again. (they;ve send me a letter about it)
How can I be responsible for their subcontractors?0 -

It is exactly the problem - they do not deliver it immediately, because it was garage out of hours, then they've charge £250 pounds for Sunday storage.Aylesbury_Duck wrote: »No, they can't, but that's not what's happened here.
I think they should at least clearly explain it in their booklet about they free service.0 -

How can they be responsible for you leaving it for a full year before trying to do anything about it? Did you go somewhere for a year that had absolutely no contact with the outside world? Were you abducted by aliens?
They would have been responsible for that day's storage, but not for the other 364 days. Never in a month of Sundays.0 -
Look, you seem to know all about your rights and you're certain that the AA is entirely responsible for your predicament, so anything I or anyone else says is falling on deaf ears. I'm not sure why you asked for advice if you're going to argue with anyone who says something you don't want to hear.
I'm not going to waste my time arguing. Sort it out yourself.0
