Its a few hours a night for a week or so, to get it in your head.
Its a cost of living as an adult these days.

Well I guess I'm not an adult then. I'm working till 9pm most evenings at the moment to cover my 'cost of living'. All I'm asking for is some logical, consistent information, but it's not here.

    Very helpful comment....

I understand that, but by the same token there is obviously a significant time requirement to be able to deal with these tickets despite what is on these boards. Therefore I would say that people shouldn't be berated as dealing with these tickets is quite clearly nowhere near as simple as it is suggested on this board with the additional factor of the limited time period to deal with them.

Clearly, if you don't have the required time within the window of a week-10 days between getting the ticket and the period to pay the reduced fee, you will not have any other option, but to pay. Given these circumstances, no-one is a numpty or lacking in adult skills if they can't navigate this challenging legal situation and contradictory information in a week.

I work in a challenging field, with a legal aspect, and I'm finding the information very difficult to navigate. I imagine there are many others out there, like me.

You missed a significant part of the conversation out. I was asking about the chance of success in appealing and the risks if it weren't successful. Information that I seemingly can't get an answer to. The advice is simply 'do as I say'. I also explained that while my Mum might agree to play the 'elderly' card, I highly doubt she would agree to stating her health problems to some random company.

The answer here isn't to offer to do something on someone's behalf (I don't know you, you could state anything on my Mum's behalf). The answer is to enable people to make the decisions and take the appropriate action for themselves.
This forum has a well publicised and often quoted 99% win rate, with no risk of a CCJ or to anyone's licence.

    Absolutely and completely wrong.

The opposite is true, we help people every day of the week who have not replied to 2015 PCNs, etc! Yes, 4 year old PCNs, PPCs ignored for months/years, still easy to beat.

There is NO OPTION to pay, on this forum. It does not exist, no idea why you think you must rush...then give up and pay. Not a single poster here does that.

Where is the 99% win rate? I haven't seen it.

What does that even mean? 'There is no option to pay'. If you're advising people not to pay, what are you advising people to do? Incidentally, I'll refer you to the poster further up who advised that I give up and pay as I don't have the time to read all the required information, so there are posters on here advising people to pay.

I think there's a rush as after today, my Mum pays £100 rather than £60. Why do you think there isn't a rush? (Obviously, I've given up expecting answers at this point...)

I'm sure I'm wasting my breath, because you're patently not willing to listen to anyone with a perspective that differs from your own and half-explanations such as yours may be helpful to someone who already has some knowledge of this area, but to someone who has never dealt with this situation before, they're not helpful.

The advice on the newbie thread and in this forum doesn't make sense and is often contradictory. I understand that this is all done voluntarily therefore I have no right to complain and as I said I highly doubt you're interested in any feedback. However, I can't help feeling that if some of the energy that has gone into arguing on this thread and making random/contradictory statements of 'do this', 'don't do that', with no attempt to answer or address any questions or provide context, had gone into producing useful information/responses, this thread might have resulted in something useful. As it is, this has been a waste of all our time.

Where is the 99% win rate? I haven't seen it.
Search the forum for ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST and count the wins per month.

Win, win, win, court cases trashed by ordinary people all the time!

But we have seen two cases lost this year (AFAIK) and I seem to recall one of them was not after following our advice so cannot fairly be counted as a loss by the forum if a person went off piste. Even a rare loss can appeal or just pays about £175 including court fees but it is almost unheard of and does not affect their credit rating so there is no risk or bad repercussions by doing the right thing.

We have consistently seen 99% of cases won in court on this forum, since 2017, and we lay a marker on all the wins, to be able to count them up and prove them to disbelieving readers. Hence why they are all marked with that same Queen song phrase to make them easy to search for!

Because Mum pays nothing if she follows our advice throughout.

That is why the NEWBIES thread instructs people what to do and how and by when. Most people here call it a gold mine and a re very ahppy with the guidance & advice, but sometimes posters get jaded whenfaced with someone who oesn;t believe we can achieve what we help people achieve, and that is why a poster may have sighed with frusration andadvised that maybe you are a person who will never be able to be advised by us, so if you wan tto pay and give up, then do it.

If however you are curious to see f we can do what we say we can (and the results are there in black and white when you do the search I suggested!) then stick around and enjoy the life experience.

There is no risk in defending a claim, no CCJ, no huge costs.

It is all good as long as you open your mind to it and are prepared to learn a bit about the law and the scam. If not, then walk away and let your poor Mum be a victim of that scam.

My Mum has long since passed but if she were here and in this situation I would be writing her replies for her and using a friend's address so she doesn't see the letters and can be truly reassured that you are dealing with the scam for her.

So if you are up for it, tell us what you have read to be contradictory? There is no contradiction in the NEWBIES thread that I know about but feedback is good, to make it better.

Of course...search for Another One Bites The Dust...obvs...

Mum might pay nothing if I follow your advice...if only I understood what that was!

The Newbies thread left a lot of questions unanswered for me. That's my honest feedback. So I came here and they still went unanswered. You call it giving up, I call it having no other option.

I do hope you're not implying that I'm a rubbish daughter with your comments as that would be wholey out of order, particularly given the considerable and stressful efforts I've made to resolve this for her.

I'll provide the contradictions, but I'm a bit busy at the moment drinking gin. If you want to make a start, the majority of my questions in the thread were trying to clarify contradictory information and most went unanswered. There's a list right there.

None of the above will have any influence on the PPC - it never does - elderly and infirm, young and fit is irrelevant to them. They just want your mother's money. They've created a nasty little trap that she has fallen into, even if just momentarily. No matter what you say in an appeal to them, it won't cause even a pause in their pursuit. They want money!

But what you must avoid, especially as byelaws and PoFA are possibly in play, is to reveal who was driving. Especially important where airport (and port and station) parking charges are concerned.

Just use the ready prepared initial appeal template - unaltered - in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1.

This will have to be sorted by a Judge, in the fullness of time (possibly). While VCS have instigated proceedings in a very small number of airport cases, they are not in the same proportion to their other general parking cases, which might suggest they are not so confident of winning at airports.

Here's one as a starter. The Newbies thread says to state if the driver is elderly/infirm, yet this poster said it makes no difference. So which is it?

You can see in the thread I already asked this - no answer.

So I've just been reading this (or trying to from what I understand) and here Coupon-mad seems to be saying that you should say you stopped in an emergency. How can anyone with a full-time job navigate this?

As per this post, you ask why someone stopped in a no stopping zone if not for an emergency stop? Surely taking this argument to it's logical conclusion, no-one can fight a no-stopping ticket unless they stopped for an emergency stop, right? And then surely this argument needs to be given in the initial appeal, except the template and advice don't state that....

The advice in the Newbie thread is to look at threads similar to your own. What, exactly, is someone supposed to take from these? How do they know that what the poster did was right or even still in line with current advice?
