It’s a pretty threatening letter to be honest specially with the 5 things they claim their client could do...I will definitely be reporting it then thank you for your help :)

I think you mean PLEBBIE letters from total idiots.

Only a judge can decide, not some jumped up debt collector or dodgy legal. They live in the clouds

I would also send a complaint to the DVLA about them. State you are disgusting that your data has been released to such a rogue company.
  • They really are aren’t they!

I’m surprised DVLA allow them access bearing in mind how strict Data Protection is these days.

I’ve literally just emailed Trading Standards so hopefully they will be able to look into it!

I’ll fire one off to DVLA in the morning

Hope you realise what the problem is with the word Summons?

Your complaints need to be written in an informed way.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I know in criminal cases it’s an order from the court to appear in court, civil lawsuits it’s slightly different?

I’ve scoured a lot of the threads previously suggested in relation to these companies & I think I’ve worded the complaint in an informed way...time will tell!

I really do appreciate all the comments & help from everyone as I know you all see 100s of these parking threads daily & are constantly repeating your advice to us newbies but it really is appreciated.

A summons is so last century too. It's generally dealt with by a single justice procedure notice now.

    They really are dumb.
  • I also just received the same letter from the same company, received days after the 72 hour period. Regarding a pcn from over 3 years ago, the original company has now used 3 different debt collectors. The thing about this letter is the first thing you read when you open it is SUMMONS which did initially worry me, then I saw 'notice of intention to instruct solicitors to issue' before it in very small writing. Also notice this company is 'incorporated in wales', has an address in Gloucester on the footer of the letter, but asks for cheques to be sent to glasgow. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this was against the rules

We got the same letter from CIS too, just as Wellie80 described it!

Dated the 4/11/19, with the warning to pay within 72 hours, arrived on the 11/11/19! What a joke.

As there is no dated postmark on the letter, there is no way of tracing it other than our word that it landed on our doorstep on the 11th!

Make sure you ALL independently complain to:

    - trading standards
    - the DVLA
    - the FCA if CIS are listed as registered
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I wrote the date & time on the envelopes that they came through the letterbox (sad I know) but because like you say there is no dated post mark...our word against theirs I know but best to try cover all angles.

My friend got one to & will be complaining to trading standards, DVLA etc...the more individual complaints the better...there’s definitely a pattern emerging with these scammers!
