    Hi,
thanks for this post Wellie80 (and all the help from the forum contributors).

We are in sort of the same position as you in receiving a Notice of Legal Action from Credit Investigation Services.

I have opened a separate post (although I am hoping for the same advice) because differently from you we have ignored all of the letters (which I see is different from the advice here on this forum) from DRP, Zenith, and Gladstones. I do notice that the Legal Action arrived on the 2nd November but allegedly with a writing date of the 25th October - so it arrived the day after the weeks grace they were giving to settle the account!!!.
What efficient people they are!!! Not!

I was going to sit tight & wait to see what happened next but I decided to go with advice from The Deep on this thread & I contacted my local MP who emailed me back this evening to say he was looking into the matter I’ve raised & will be in touch once he hears anything further 🤞
I only replied to the very first PCN to appeal it then have ignored every other letter since.
Let’s hope he comes back with good news!

    I contacted my local MP
They'll be keen as mustard right now, especially if their seat is marginal.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The first letter we got was 3 months after the alleged event which at the time seemed pointless appealing, but perhaps we should. Which is why we ignored the lot of the letters. I opened a post just to get some reassurance. Will be watching what happens to you.
I think that I will follow your lead and ping an email to my MP too to see what they think of NPE and the lot of them!
  • So just an update...after receiving 2 letters today now headed “Notice of Intention to instruct Solicitors to issue Summons” if the above debt was not paid in 72hrs from the date on the letter (4th November so a tad impossible to pay in that time frame getting the letters a week later ) I emailed my local MP again who came back with a most helpful reply of “thank you for contacting me again I have forwarded this to the Parking Protection Company & would suggest you make contact with them to on the below number”

Clearly I won’t be doing that...so will just sit tight & see if they go through with their delightful threats on their poorly worded letter

    Does it really say "summons"?
  • Yep it sure does....in rather large bold capitals to!

They also kindly put notice to issue summons at the start of the letter just in case I didn’t see the big orange box header stating it the first time!

They intend to advise their client to instigate lmmediate legal proceedings against me & list 5 actions which their client maybe able to take against me.

Report that to Trading Standards. It's a misleading and aggressive practice. It's downright lies.
  • It’s a pretty threatening letter to be honest specially with the 5 things they claim their client could do...I will definitely be reporting it then thank you for your help :)
