Hi jwil. Ours doesnt on parentpay. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else though. Our school runs its own breakfast and afterschool club now. I log in via one email adress to parentpay so its one main account to log in with but then there are individual groups/sub accounts/pots if you like. Each child has one each for breakfast club, afterschool club, school dinners, school trips and swim contributions for their lessons. I go into each pot/section for each child, allocate it an amount then collect it all in a shopping basket ready to pay on one lump sum at the end.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Another day another payment 42p this time. Came under on my shopping budget yesteday but then bought 2 bottles of wine as a treat. Ooops. Im trying to stockpile tins toilet roll washing tablets etc a little as jan is going to be a skint month for me so im buying a bit extra each time. Only cheap non perishable but every little helps eh.
Quiet weekend planned although if it stays dry we may watch a local firework display. Its free but has fairground rides and sweet stands etc so will need some money if we go. I bought ear defenders earlier in the year so hopefully we can give it a try and the kids not be bothered by the noise. If they are we just come home. Easy as that xJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

It's amazing how the small amounts add up. Are you adding them up? At the end of the month/year see how much you've overpaid without really thinking about it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well we went to the fireworks. Spent far too much and it started raining as soon as the fireworks started and rained all the way home.
I had budgeted for the fairground rides -there is normally 3 so 3 lots of 3 goes but completely forgot they sold flashy things....aka young childrens delight /expensive parental tat. I spent my top end of my planned budget so it wasnt a complete slip up.
We all had a good time and splashed in all the puddles on the way home.
Back to today. 2 direct debits and an overpayment of 15p.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Hi, well done for clearing so much, do your pad's go into savings or debt may I ask? I have a feeling I once tried to do one under £1 with one of my banks and they wouldn't accept it, can't remember which one though.1

Currently the daily payments go onto one of my c cards. I bank with santander and halifax. My halifax account has let me open 5 savers accounts that i send money to via standing order to save for childcare, shoes clothes and haircuts, xmas and car/mot fund. I can transfer small amounts to them. In the past ive sent the odd amounts to whichever one of them looked most desperate. Currently i need to pay down this card as its got 6 months at 0% left.
My halifax isa holds my emergency fund but i can only send things over a pound to that.
My santander lite account has most of the bills coming from it as i get cashback. I cant do much by the way of pay a day from that as my phone number is out of date on it and no amount of telling them can fix it. Any pennies from there have to build up and then be paid cia debit card or something. I want to keep the santander one though as our mortgage is with them and i make a profit of 5-6 a month fromnit via cashback.
Sounds complicated having lots of accounts but it seems to work for me.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I also have lots of accounts 3 current accounts alone including the joint one and lots of little savings pots, though they're often in the same pot with individual records in my spreadsheets. I'm a little obsessed which helped me get debt free, before things changed and the ball got dropped again1

I get a bit obsessed to i think. Mainly when there is nothing to do at work so i play around with figures. Another 1.10 paid off today. School photos have come as well. They took loads and they had single ones, family ones, just the twins etc etc. I've allocated some money so just need to work out which copies and sizes we can get for the best price. Ive been caught out again by unexpected costs from school, childrrns clubd so need to be under budget with my shopping this week to stay on track. What is it about these unexpected payments.
All 3 kids classes have headlice as continually going round as well. We are currently all clear but i need to keep money set aside as its an expensive business treating us all. The joys eh.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213
