Back to the 'gang' after a few days away at my Mum's and BIL.
    - went to zumba
    - did drum practice
    - put 2nd load of washing on the line, Mr N had been busy while I was at the gym.
    - printed off all paperwork referring students for the next 3 weeks, booked in calendar etc.
    - contacted local cafe I'm taking a friend to on Fri to book lunch.
    - sorted the ton of post which arrived while we were away.
    - filled bird feeders.
    - filled flower vases.
    - continued report writing.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Thanks for kind wishes all, he didnt go to work today which is something. He started his job at the end of May and had a day off with a stomach bug, he is now worried about having more time off even though he is such a hard worker. He doesnt get paid for being sick either.

House fairly tidy, a day off tomorrow so I can catch up a little.
  • Evening!

Got in from work and I think he might have pushed the vacuum cleaner about in a lacklustre fashion around the things he'd left over the floors.

    I have;

    Cleaned the sink.
    Cleaned the bowl.
    Rewashed the dirty, greasy plates.
Rewashed the dirty, greasy baking tins/sheet.
    Washed the cutlery.
Washed up the wooden spoons and rolling pin (he decided to make some pastry. Nothing with it, just pastry), along with the bowl full of wallpaper paste because he 'left it to soak' on the hob.
    Washed up the pans.
    Cleaned the hob.
Cleaned the countertops, including putting away a bunch of things he was presumably decorating the place with.
    Wiped over the appliances.
Swept the kitchen floor. I don't think the vacuuming extended as far as there.
Swept the shower room floor. It definitely wasn't attempted in there, either.

    Cleaned the downstairs toilet.

    Made the bed.
Picked up the dirty clothes off the floor and dumped into the linen bin.
Dumped the pile of his clothes that I'd folded onto the dressing table to complement the effect of the previous three piles of washing that are already there.
Noted that he obviously hadn't vacuumed in there other than maybe a couple of foot by the door.

Apparently, I 'didn't need to do that when' he's 'just taking a break' (twatting about on his guitar upstairs). He showed no inclination to actually do it, though and retreated back up there whilst I did it all, carrying a mound of clean washing [strike]that I expect to be covering the freshly made bed when I try to go there[/strike]. And my minimal effort last week when I was off and feeling pretty worn out/trying to shake off some virusy thing with my throat and aching legs just meant that there was more waiting for me to deal with. I didn't want to save it for my weekend.

He's just emerged to go to the shop, as there is nothing for lunch again. Microwave rice packets it is, then.

He has the SC crock to deal with (I've already rewashed the lid, as it was so dirty and greasy that you couldn't see through it). He'll either wash it as soon as he comes back or it'll be sat on the side slowly and surely drawing its plans against us for the rest of the week/until I crack. And the Felines' little Box of Evil.

Going to have a shower, probably spray the sink and outside of the toilet whilst I'm in there, maybe quickly go over the floor, chuck some toilet cleaner down the bowl, dry my hair and go to bed [strike]after swearing profusely at my bed being covered with a pile of unfolded washing[/strike].
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Day out at an exhibition with DD all went smoothly.
2nd load of washing done when I got back, and now hanging on the airer as the first load is still valiantly trying to dry in the utility room.
Prepped dinner from yesterday has been reheated - good move as I was in no mood to cook when we got back.
I’m now in my pjs wondering at what point I can sneak up to bed without anyone noticing.

Morning all, thanks for the lists x

Wm is on with 1st wash

2nd week of half term here

We are out soon. Trip to pharmacy to collect stuff left off dancegran’s order yesterday and deliver it to her. DS2 then has flu drops appointment. Hopefully they will have some stock this time.

Lurgy has now descended to my chest so hope it doesn’t get worse.

I desperately need to tackle ceiling mould in various rooms but don’t want to make cough worse.

Ds1 has split up with girlfriend. She is devastated.

    Morning all

Just back from long drive last night to other house and back this morning to pick up OHs wallet. But to be fair it did give us a good opportunity to talk a few things through. So a few pending bits can now be dealt with.

    WM on
Changed into dirty job clothes as back into the playroom again today and helping DD2 with application letters and CV
Better make more coffee for me and OH who is working from home for the rest of the morning but will then go into the office for the afternoon (once he's had a shower and shave)

I can hear DD2 up and cats have just come down.

    morning all -

towels on line. Bunnies hopping around garden.

meeting a former colleague for lunch after I drop DS at work; he has a flat tyre with a nail through it, no spare as there's an inflation kit, and the mobile service can't get to him until tomorrow. Hopefully this will spur him to get breakdown cover.

Today's must do's include ironing and a bin bag dance as it's black bin day tomorrow. I also need to source a new scratch post - this is the second or third that's been completely shredded!
