Hi all
A strange day, difficult morning at work then DS messaged me to say he was feeling really ill, visit to drop in health centre and thankfully it turned out to just be a chest infection so he has antibiotics. He is worried about being off work though, so he is unlikely to take the week off that the doctor recommended.
Stew and dumplings done in the slow cooker, hoovered through downstairs and kitchen floor mopped. Two loads of washing almost dry outside. Made myself go for a walk at lunchtime rather than sitting in front of the laptop all day. Ready for bed now.0 -
Evening all
Thank you for the lists. I’m in, and really need to get my guag back. Behind already as I am on a pick & mix week shouldn’t really be possible!
It’s back to “normal” this week (although it’s half term here still) after a weekend away. Work today, grocery shop on my way home, wm and dw run, tomorrow night’s dinner prepped as I’m out all day with DD.
Hugs and GWS wishes to all those in need.0 -
Evening all. Popping in to send GWS wishes to YL's DS - hoping that he doesn't go back to work too soon and come down with something worse.
Apart from doing the dailies and spot cleaning the LR carpet, I have achieved little in the way of flying today. I had a meeting in Cathedral City this morning, and took the opportunity to do a bit of clothes shopping at a GC on the way home, with prices as good as on the www, no delivery charges to pay, and the opportunity to try things on before buying. Pleased with my purchases
After lunch I went to a local cafe to meet up with a friend who is kind enough to act as a 'critical friend' in my work review process. She came up with a couple of very helpful ideas and lots of positive feedback, which was nicead of course we had to sample the coffee and cakes
This evening I rang DH's cousin who was planning on coming to visit us in December, pinned her down to some dates, and then got DH to book tickets for the heritage railway Christmas Lights train on one evening of her stay. We were very lucky to get them as most of the Christmas specials are already sold out
Tomorrow I need to get up early and go to Mr Al for a joint to throw in the SC for our evening meal, then clean through downstairs. We are meeting up for lunch with DS2 and family at the NT property where I used to volunteer, and taking Rosie for a walk in the woods there, then the family are all coming back here for the rest of the day
Hope you can find time to relax this week, Fayolle - it sounds as if you need it xx
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx0 -
Morning all. Hope all is well today.
I have an exercise class today, but apart from that and dogs walks I'm planning on doing the ironing and getting the kitchen scrubbed.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
I was up again at work time although it is a non work day. It does mean that wm x1 is just finishing and I’ve cleared the ironing pile from last week.
I’m off out with DD for the day again to an exhibition that she wants to see.
Thank you Iona x I would settle for a full night’s sleep atm. I spent the weekend stressing, trying to dredge my brain for my (as it turned out!) very rusty German - a subject close to your heart I believe?. Now I’ve started to remember it, it’s something else that I’d like to try not to lose again. Not sure where that luxury spare time is going to come from though....
Have a lovely day all.0 -

Getting the hang of this lying in thing.
Yesterday I
Pegged out washing including the sheet I washed on Sunday which I rewashed as it had a few mud spatters on.
Got through a good portion of Mount Ironmore.
Plumbing - unblocked loo
Bricklaying - scrounged a bit of cementy stuff from builder working next door and cemented loose block from front doorstep. Covered with cage to allow time to go off
Met friend. Diverted from plan to visit Bakewell as we were stuck in traffic so we went to Hassop.
Came home. Washed car.
Went to SW
Son now has tummy bug.

I have an appointment at lunchtime and will be out a while so need to split paid stuff into 2 shifts today, flying will be done at some point!

Have a lovely day all xx0 -
Morning all.
I was up early to go to Mr Al soon after opening time, so
- pork and veg in SC for tea
- yogurt made for breakfast
- fridges restocked for probably not very long
- dropped DH off at SW.
In just under a 2xHHC I have
- decluttered my breakfast
- cleaned the kitchen worktops and cupboard fronts
- S&S'd bathroom
- S&S'd ensuite
- dusted, hoovered and (where necessary) mopped all though downstairs
- found two seat cushions with their tags pulled off - DH pleaded possibly guilty to one, but did not mention the other; I haven't sat on those chairs for weeks, and Rosie never sits on them! They will have to wait until we get back...
Off out in a few minutes with Rosie in the car, to collect DH and then drive off into the sunshine to meet up with DS2 and family0 -
