Who has a grey house

Whilst our house might be on the grey side our furniture on the whole is not.0

I have grey carpets upstairs but only because I couldn't be bothered to work out what colour carpets would go with two different shades of blue and a rather vibrant lilac colour (my six year old daughter's choice of paint for her walls).
I also thought that when the (no longer) six year old tires of the vibrant lilac then I wouldn't need to change the carpets again as it would go with any colour.
My mother's house has a grey kitchen (walls and flooring) but it's broken up with a sage green colour and a very bright yellow.0 -
Put put down grey carpet and painted the walls grey when we tarted up our last place to sell. It was light and neutral, everyone seemed to like it, and the house sold quickly.
Then again, I doubt many people write off homes due to colour scheme. The second you move out of a house it needs a fresh coat half the time.0 -
I do like grey carpets. However, some people take it too far with their grey homes - not everything should be grey! I am thinking of grey carpets soon (so far we've kept the same carpets that came with the house - all beige tones). But our furnishings will be bright and colourful.Mortgage started 2015: £150,000 2016: £130,000 2017: £116,000 2018: £105,000 2019: £88,000 2020: £69,000 2021: £51,195 2023: MORTGAGE FREE!0

We haven't decorated yet, but the living room will likely be predominantly grey and I suspect our spare bedroom will be grey+a colour as I love the grey and white curtains that have ended up in there.
I do feel like I can't have the same colour in every room though, so it won't be the whole house.0 -
We've just moved into our first owned house and in the first week I've had grey carpet or vinyl laid in every room and painted the whole house the same shade of grey! I do actually love it after 20 years of landlords magnolia.0

Not a huge fan of all over grey here, although it's ok in small amounts - for example, we have dark greyish (actually more of a greige
) handpainted kitchen cabinets in our cottage.
I do prefer it to magnolia or white though.....
Back in 1993/4 we painted the hallway of our Victorian detached house what my father referred to as 'battleship grey' beneath the dado rail, with a vibrant 'print room' yellow above it. It was *different*, lol

Grey seems to be the in colour this year. Could be manufacturers had a glut of grey stuff to get rid of and convinced designers and their ilk to focus on and fawn over grey..............
Wonder what next year's fabulous colour will be?0 -
Grey at a guess.0

My husband painted all our rooms grey before we put it on the market to neutralise it0
