Who has a grey house

Every refurbished house I see for sale now is grey. Same grey carpets upstairs and lots more grey besides.
I find it rather cold and miserable. Who likes it and who has it?

  • Its the new magnolia and coffee coloured carpets.....

Its not my taste per se...but its a neutral colour scheme on which people can add their own accessories.

There was a house for sale on here that was very grey.

Usual why has my house not sold stuff.

The one where the poster forgot to mention the planning for the skateboard Park at the bottom of their garden

My mother's lounge used to be dove grey, but it had wood floors and a broad range of furniture, much of it wooden or in warm colours, so it never felt cold or boring.

    Me me me!

I have a grey house. Well, grey carpets with beige walls. Well, mostly beige walls, most rooms have one feature wall.

I'm not a massive fan of the grey carpet (it was the wife's decision), but it's better than beige.

It's just the trend of today. Same with having large kitchen diners rather than a kitchen with a separate dining room.

Kirsty loves to knock down those walls.

    Our new build is grey.

The carpets are grey, the vinyl flooring is a shade of grey, the kitchen worktops are grey over white gloss units, the bathrooms have grey tiles.

For now our walls are all white but we intend to start decorating next Easter after we have been in for a year and we will be sticking with the grey theme. We quite like it. Mind you our last house was very magnolia and coffee coloured and we didn't mind that either. Perhaps we have boring tastes!

I don't have it, but I think it's hard to go wrong with it. It's so easy to make hideous mistakes with colour - feature walls were probably the cruelest thing to happen to people with no sense of design. I've seen far more horrendous chimney breasts etc than I've seen bad-looking grey rooms.

I include myself in the 'no sense of design' category by the way - my last living room I just painted the whole thing white.

I don't. I have a lot of antique furniture. It is quite difficult to find nice antique furniture in shades of grey.
