3Pay Nokia 7600 - factory resetting

I've unlocked quite a few of these and only one has needed a phone reset, I would suggest that you unlock it and try it with another sim card.If the Signal stays constant straight away then you are ok..
Mines unlocked and in a strong 3 network area and my O2 sim card has worked for ages with no problems..
when you get them I'll do the unlock codes for you if you drop me a PM.. ;D
It has nothing to do with whether there's a strong 3 signal in your area or not, it's all about whether your chosen network also has a 3G network up and running in your area - O2 hasn't yet rolled out their 3G network so your experience is not surprising. The day that they do roll out their 3G network (not very long now, I'm sure) is the day that your phone will stop working.
Unless you plan to use this handset with a 3 USIM, you're simply living on borrowed time by not getting it factory reset and switching the phone into 2G-only mode via the newly revealed menu item.
RMFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
get it now....

Hello
You asked if I had phoned the network to get the GPRS activated.
I have and not only that I have tried another O" sim card which is already GPRS active and that won't wokr either.
Have you got yours to work? Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

An update on GPRS
Well a kind money saver on a different thread posted the GPRS settings for o2 and I have tried them. Yippee they worked so it is not the phone.
Now All I need is to phone Tesco mobile again and get the right settings this time. And then maybe it will work on a Tesco sim.
I love this site. Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

I think you've missed the point - the issue is not whether you are in a strong "3" area (as that's a different network to the one you are using), but whether your 2g operator is testing or has gone live with their own 3g service; then the phone will try to lock on to that signal. Where I am, my 7600 would not work with an Orange sim at all, but worked with Vodafone and o2. After a phone reset, it works on Orange too.0 -
So does anyone know how to unlock the phone and do the factory reset for free?

Hi All,
Anyone know if the Nokia 7600, if unlocked on unlockme.co.uk, will work with a virgin sim card?
I have a prospective buyer so I need to be sure it works or they'll want their money back ::)
Cheers in advance
EJ xxxSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0
