Sorry Lil_me - I peeped at the piccies to and i'm allowed to join the club because we are a tip right now. Your tree looks fantastic and has given me a chritmassy pang so thankyou!

WE HAVE DECORATED THE LIVING THE ROOM! The paintwork is finished and, wait for this....DH has said do we mind not going into town to the christmas markets tomorrow as he'd like to put the floor down!!! Sorry, can you just wait a while whist I pick myself up off the floor. As both children are coming down with colds and it's supposed to be really cold and rainy tomorrow I am only too willing to not go. I'M GOING TO HAVE A FLOOR! I'M GOING TO HAVE A FLOOR! xx
    January budget
    Nothing left!
  • sorry lil-me - i looked. you should say you didn't want us too sooner in your post.

I loved your tree by the way, and agree we should probably share what they look like as we all get there.

I don't even want to look at certain parts of my house as it is all quite tip like today for some reason.

quite pleased with myself, as i have sat and written the xmas cards. I then emailed all the people who we didn't have current addresses for to find them out (wonders of facebook!!) and got DH to do those that belong to him, DH also wrote a couple of thank yous for charlie's birthday pressies (only 6 weeks later but what the hell) and i sorted out the DD application for Charlies trust fund, all while feeling poo.

so not a wasted evening on my part. Really i just wanted to slob but felt too guilty to do that.

Anyway, pretty much bed for me. I know i am feeling bad as i have had 4 parecetomol today and i hate taking anything while pregnant.

Must wash some of charlie's things tomorrow - thinking PJs as he has run out, plus wash the mouldy curtains that we couldn't be bothered to do today.

so it will probably be a busy day for me, as we also need to food shop.

:rotfl: oh well the secret is out, the teacher has thrown her duster in the corner and given up and now everyone knows. See we're all only human. Have added extra notes incase anyone else looks :o I promise I will try better tomorrow, getting there slowly, vacuuming using my left arm was the hardest thing ever today and hurt like hell so I am hoping the boys will help tomorrow. Pathetic at the minute as I am managing to get the basket of laundry upstairs by taking a few things at a time because I can't carry them up as they are. They probably won't help so it'll be just me and lots of painkillers.

    :j :j :j LJD1 We need photos

Michelle, well done, you've achieved more than me this evening, most I have managed is to take a few items up at a time from the laundry basket when I have gone upstairs

Sonic needs cleaning out aswell, he's a stinker this week, possibly all the fresh meat he's had. I'll let him have scrambled eggs for breakfast before I clean it out as he makes a mess with those!

Hmmm not feeling motivated enough to even write a list, I will try and do a bit before bed, I know I will curse myself if I come downstairs in the morning and it's horrible, especially the kitchen.
One day I might be more organised...........

Who the heck said that making christmas cards was a nice relaxing way to spend an afternoon? They were bloody liars!

Supposed to be taking these two to a special event at a local NTS Castle tomorrow, but the way they are acting, no chance! Hubby is working so I will be on my own too, nightmare.

Last bit of fish and some chips in the oven, think they will be in bed for 6pm tonight.

Crikey - sounds like some day you've had tiamai_d...hope things improve very shortly!

Christmas tree looks lovely lil_me, can't see us getting ours up for a while yet...I usually leave it to DH and DS2 and the first night available for them both to get on with it is the 12th I think....oh and I didn't look at the photo's you posted for kaz -honest injun :D

Have done hardly any flying today, just the usual daily stuff, and 5 trays of mushrooms dehydrated and packaged up for my store cupboard. OH and DS2 out tomorrow morning, DD2 will probably be [strike]sulking and moaning[/strike] studying in her room, so I'm going to try and sort out all my store cupboards and perhaps move some stuff to make the places I store stuff more sensible...ie move some craft stuff out of the dresser cupboard and swap it with the emergency tinned food supply on high shelf in DS2's wardrobe.

right - got to get off here now and onto my money programme so that I can log what I've spent today (ouch!)

    love the pics :)

Well, we're back from watching Becks. Good game, great footballer, wonderful weekend :) Did some Christmas shopping while in the big smoke, too, so I'm really pleased about that.

Have come home and totally unpacked already. Second load of washing on (haven't done any since Friday), vacuumed living areas, cleaned up kitchen.

Also have to do before bed:
    Business invoicing
    Update finances
Pay some of last months bills :(
    Weekly menu
    Grocery list.

  • Morning everyone.

Really pleased your trip to bee David Beckham lived up to your expectations Denise!
    lil_me- your tree looks fab
LJD- great going with the decorating, hope the floor goes to plan today.
kazmeister- huge hugs to you. You have done loads of stuff, as has already been said don't be too hard on yourself.

I got the child benefit letter this week too!

Yesterday I nipped out in the morning for an hour and a half to 2 christmas fairs, once back home and had a bite to eat I set about cleaning and tidying the lounge. All rearranged ready for the tree this afternoon. I have bought mince pies and shortbread to eat whilst we do it.
Updated my finances as I've just been paid and had a good tidy round so that all things that should be upstairs are upstairs. They haven't been put away but I'll do that over the coming week as I have now got my new rota sorted. Hip, hip hooray. :j Only took a few minutes when I eventually had the quiet time to do it. Surprising how quickly some jobs are done when you actually spend the necessary thinking time and energy on them rather than just having it all milling around in your head.
Did loads of shopping online for DH's presents too. Needed to get my things to him and also pressies from my mum, dad and his parents. Nearly sorted!

Had a chat with DH last night about work as well. Not coping with the working pattern I have been doing this past month. I used to do 16 and a half hours a week. With moving office and longer travelling time I needed to do more days to amintain my monthly wage. I've been trying to work an average of 20 hours a week by doing 18 hours one week and 22 the next and it's not been easy. Obviously with dad being in hospital it has been even more hectic. But in some ways it's shown me that there's more to life than trying to cram in hours at work, so it's going to be 18 hours every week from after Christmas. Feel much more relaxed about that issue now.
I take my hat off to anyone who works fulltime and has children!

    So today will be....
roast chicken lunch to be prepared and cooked
overflowing basket of ironing to be conquered
presents to be sent to USA to be wrapped
letter for friend in NZ to be written
    list contents of freezer
    menu plan for week
    write a shopping list
    cut DS's hair
change DS's bed and vac mattress
    make lemon curd tarts
tree down from loft, decorated and lots of shortbread eaten
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Well pick yourself up damn quick or you'll be stuck under it!!!!!! :rotfl:

We need pics when it's done :D

And sorry lil_me I too had a look and believe me your tip is no where near as impressive as my tip :p:o and no I am not going to post a pic, would die of eternal embarrassment.

Just seen your pics as well Kaz and thank you thank you thank you. I thought I was the only person who had millions of hangers! There are loads in carrier bags because I haven;t soted them into adult/children/trouser hangers etc and when I went on the loft this week there were thousands more!!!

Anyway I had better clear the landing again so that when Dad arrives to help me put the outdoor train lights up we can at least stand on the landing whilst I go up into the loft to retrieve them!
