Al Rayan Bank Warning

I managed to summon enough strength to give them another call about this today, since it's now been 2 weeks since my fixed term deposit arrived in my holding account. A 40 minute wait this time, but got through to a very helpful person who has hopefully sorted the issue and offered backdated profit to when the money was received.I've been waiting a week for a fixed term account to be opened, I can see the money sitting in my holding account (correct reference shown), and I received the same email as you and have signed up to their mimecast email system where I found a message dated yesterday asking me to make my deposit.
I don't really care as long as they get around to it in the end and backdate interestprofit to the date the payment was received.
I'm suspicious that the issue was related to me making use of the debit card deposit option at the end of the application. Making the deposit by bank transfer might be safer.0 -

Same thing happened to me weeks ago, deposit was via Bank transfer and identical amount to that stated when applied for fixed term, I left a secure message and was phoned first working day after, same outcome.0 -
The flexibility to amend the SO dates, amounts, etc is quite a useful figure if you are feeding a RSA by SO.
Does anyone know how to amend (not cancel) the exisitng SO with Al Rayan ?0 -
Al Rayan Bank is seemingly going mobile APP only
See this page where on the right hand side info panel it says how the desktop login is going to be decommissioned

Looks like there will still be a desktop web interface, but you'll have to log into the App first to access it:

Following the link above, I see there's planned maintenance this weekend, Saturday night to Sunday morning.
Let's hope it comes back OK on Sunday.0 -
Al Rayan problems with recent changes to their website re new app include unable to now log on online via website as there is a bug at the entering login password re number of digits. Can't use app as only works with android 8 not 4 or 5 which a lot of Android devices are confined to. Anybody else come across this since changes to site?0

I'm not sure I'm happy with APP only...depends how good it is I suppose. Is it? Does it have fingerprint log in?
I do have Android 8, so that should be OK.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Yes, that's correct, you need at least Android 8 to run the app. Can't use app as only works with android 8 not 4 or 5 which a lot of Android devices are confined to. Anybody else come across this since changes to site?
In my view it's adequate for viewing and opening fixed term savings accounts, but according to others lacks features available with its Everyday Saver. It does have fingerprint log in.I'm not sure I'm happy with APP only...depends how good it is I suppose. Is it? Does it have fingerprint log in?
Given Al Rayan has recently dropped all of its rates below its other Sharia competitors, there isn't much reason to rush to sign up.0 -
I already have the Everyday saver @ 1.6%, and to be fair, I only really want to pay in and take out, not set up SOs or anything, so maybe it will be ok.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
