The days are starting to blur into one. Banking checked, spreadsheet updated, surveys completed.
My contract with sk¥ was coming to an end abd shooting up from £68 to £114! Gave them a call had a haggle and got it down to £60. The broadband isn't cheap, but it's very fast abd reliable which is a must at the minute! We've kept the movies and Netflix so teenagers are happy. It is a lot of money but we definitely get our money's worth.Tomorrow i'm going to have a blitz around the house so it's all clean and tidy for the weekend. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Still pottering and tidying yoday, but seriously lacking motivation. Have managed to couple of surveys and getting close to the min payments again.I normally shop on a Wednesday but with Mr choc away, we've been eating up our stocks. Going to make shep pie for tonight, have curry for tomorrow. I need to meal plan rest of week, but hoping to make it to Wednesday without buying anything else. Hubby is spending a bit on drinks and food whilst working away. By not shopping this week it means his spends cover by our normal food budget. He should be able to claim most of it back which is a bonus. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

I've woke up with a stinking headache....I feel like I've drunk a bottle of wine, but annoyingly didnt!
I'm going to make a conscious effort to drink more water and stop snacking on junk. I've maintained my weight for the last 3weeks so need to change things up. Back to my slimming world books and meal planning.
Account update - looking healthy, but haven't moved all the money to our saving pots. Don't have any big expenses until later DD2s birthday at end of month.Going to nip to local shop to buy fresh bread and bacon for Saturday morning brekkie for the kids. Need to get butt in gear to have a look at cupboards/freezer and plan food until I go shopping Wednesday. Skipping last week's shop has save us £75ish which is great. Hubby's extra food spends at work is about £30, so budget still on track. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Definitely not feeling the love again today. Don't think it's covid, just feeling very run down. Was in bed and asleep by 9:20 last night. It's blowing a Gale here and the wind howling woke me at 7. Going to try have another hour asleep before blitzing rest of cleaning abd changing the beds.
Nothing much to update on account front. Hubby working today so had to buy brekkie again. It's amazing how much all the 1 or 2 here and there add up.I'm still holding off moving the saving pot cash just in case hubby is extended at work. Will have a look next week, when last income comes in. I have forgotten my monthly saver hasn't gone out...somehow missed this on my spreadsheet. I do have cash in EF to cover it and move it from one account to the other when needed. I set it up as interest was 2% rather than 0.01 so it's worth doing money shuffle every month for few extra %. Having it committed for a year also stops any temptation of touching it. I'm hoping to cover all £300 from salary this month rather than older savings.
Nect week I'll send my over payment to the loan to get it under the magic 7k.
Debt balances today total £15568.77
£7144.13 loan (pay £115.90)
£8424.64 loan (pay £179.50)Setting myself the aim of getting under £15 next month. With loan interest added I think I'll need around £160 as an extra payment to hit this target. We're getting slowly. Longing for our debt free day! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
It's definitely feeling like groundhog!
Money update
- I've still not moved the cash across into the savings pots yet - will do it tomorrow.
-Have agreed new fixed 2y mortgage rate with advisor, it's 1.59% which is a teeny bit lower than it was. We'll owe just few pounds more than 30k in April when new deal kicks in. It'll have 8years left to run. I'm hoping to get rid of both the two loans whilst this deal runs in next 2years. It'd be amazing to be debt free when liking gir next deal. We could reduced term down from 6years and still have the same outgoings as now.-complained to PayPal about a top of bought my daughter...completely different colour /material and company wouldn't t respond to any emails or fb messages. Pay-pal have found in my favour and refund will take approx 5 days. Refund will go back into birthday saving pot.
-25p away from 1survey site & just waiting for payments to confirm on the other so will click out ASAP. Haven't made a lot so far in feb, so need to up my game! Did list something on eBay over weekend, but need to get more on there! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Finally hit 490 points again - so cashed out £5 Amazon voucher again. This takes my extra income in Feb to £10, Total for Xmas 2021= £157.15Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

Busy money shuffling day as have filled up the saving pots as budgeted. Using the pots has definetly changed the way I manage our money. The pots are looking really healthy at the minute, so my plan next month is to save into the Birthday pot and car as normal and then round up the rest of the accounts. This will hopefully mean there is more 'surplus' to send to the loan as an overpayment.Pot balances & Budgets for MarchHouse repairs £50 - £0 MarchRental house repairs £77.16 (SAVE £22.84 March)House maintance fees £50 - £0 MarchDog £110.30 (SAVE £14.70 March) Desperate for groom but can't go until lockdown overBirthdays £283.13 (Need £1000 by September for driivng lessons - Save £216.87 MarchClothes £193.60 (SAVE £6.40 March)Activities £1.15 - £0 MarchCar Savings £150 but waiting for the DD to be taken after paying car tax in full (Save £125 March)Loan updateHave sent an overpayment of £144.14 to the loan, so balance is £6999.99. Chuffed to bits we're under the 7K mark already, but chasing being under 6K now.Joint account looking ok, but still a long way to go to the end of the month. Hubby has put his first work expense claim in and it should be approx £70, which will replace the food budget cash he's been spending. Did my food shop today, had a £2 money off voucher which i've thrown into the xmas cash jar. Balance on account currently £390.31 - do have the £150 for car tax still sat in seperate account but not sure when that'll be taken. My car needs filling up, but £30 should do me to the end of the month. Hubby not using his car at all so he should be fine until pay day. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

beanielou said:Good news on under 7kThe repayments are £115.90 so without any overpayments I won't see that for 8.5months! Can't wait until October, that's too long! Hoping to get there in 3months by the end of may! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230
