  • Lovely start to the day with my £64 tax refund hitting my account. As tempting as it is to use it to order some paint, I've pinged it straight over as an extra payment to my loan. Checking out on the repayment calculator it knocks 1month off and saves £28 interest over the term.  Takes the outstanding balance to £7305.24 and I'm on a mission to get it under 7k by the end of Feb.

Nothing else to report on cash front. Hubby has got to nip into work this morning for the first time in ages. He's in/out for quick meeting. Girls up showered, dressed and ready for a day of zoom lessons. I've got more cleaning planned for this morning and im
going to get all the decorating stuff out the garage. Hopefully the caulk on the tube still ok to use!

  • The good news keeps coming today! Have sold an item on ebay, which after all my fees and postage added another £25.52 to add to my Christmas Pot. I've had to update my ebay account, so no longer use pay-pal. The fees seems pretty much the same, it just means i've got to wait for that cash to be transferred to my account. Not sure if i like it, but will give it a go!

I've had £1 max selling fees offer too for this weekend, so have signed up for that and hopefully will get some bits listed.

I managed to cash out my £10 amazon voucher from snap my eats too - which another another £10 towards xmas. I count it as cash as we are regular shoppers on Amazon. I'll use the vouchers when we next need something and transfer the value into our Xmas Pot when i do.

It's the 22nd of the month and I'm over the moon i've managed to smash my £100 extra income target. Current total is £119.15 / £1000 target for year.

  • Had another bit of good news - email from a sruvery company confirming that they've loaded £5 onto my love2shop card for a questionnaire I did about postage stamps. Have updated xmas 2021 spreadsheet again and will count as cash, as will spend the £5 and move cash to bank account. Total £124.15.

Wish I had more days like this! I'm £104.52 better off today, than I was yesterday. Making sure each and every penny is used for a purpose.

They've got a max selling for £1 this weekend Sarah. I'm determined to get 10 items listed. The change in fees takes a bit of getting used to. Annoyingly you don't get cash straight away so postage costs gace to be found. I preferred PayPal as easier to keep cash separate. beanielou said:

  • Trip to B&q this morning which was very odd. It's the first time I've stepped into a shop other than a supermarket for months. It wasn't too busy, but I was still surprised how hang people out with partners and children.

I picked up a stack of colour sample books and cards to decide on paint colour. I need
qiite a few prep items like masking tape, sealant and a sealant remover. It's amazing how quickly it adds up - exactly £25 later.

It's come from my house repairs saving pot so not out of this months budget. I bought 2 sealants white and clear, may be she clear back depending how it looks with white.

Nipped you post office on way home. Posted the eBay purchase and a birthday card for my friend. Had to scrabble through my bag and wallet but found 66p ' spare' cash so that didn't come out of this month's budget either.

Thought I'd slept quite well, but feel tired and groggy. Going to take the dog out with my hubby, but have nothing planned this afternoon.

  • The forecasters were right and we've had 4inches of beautiful snow early this morning. Strangely enough we had nothing planned, so nothing didn't venture out on the roads. Did go for a lovely walk with the dog and youngest dragged her sledge out too.

Nothing to update on the money front. No spend today, as nothing really left to spend. 2 days to pay day, thankfully! Jan is always the longest month ever.

I did have a bit of luck yesterday. Our chair has broken, the frame has given way. I called DFS to ask if frames covered under the guarantee abd they are for 10years. Fingers crossed will get a call with regards to adding us to a waiting list for repair. Hubby was talking about trying to fix it ourselves or buying a new one. Really love our settee so will be chuffed if the chair can be fixed. Should last a few more years yet, which is great news.

  • It's always a relief when I check our bank and I can see my wages as pending. I've had a partial refund on something I bought that was broken on arrival. I complained months ago and the refund arrived today, Was a completed surprise - another £5.09. Our joint account had £30.61 sat available, so I've pinged it to the Halifax loan. Not as much as I hoped, but the good news is we've not touched the overdraft.

The extra payment takes the loan balance to £7274.63. I'm aiming to have it under 7k by end of Feb. The repayment is £115.90 so I need to find an extra £158.73. With the lockdown imposed this should be doddle. This month I'm going to plan this overpayment as I do our bills. Will adjust the misc, food and fuel so it's covered.

hoping to hit some more surveys today - have £4.14 cleared on PA so getting close to another min withdraw for Xmas 2021 again.
