I rang comet to take up this offer on the 13th december but have yet to have it installed. Paid my £30 for the install but now sky are saying they have no record of the offer on my account and if i want it i will have to pay £299 plus the install. The offer is of course now not available at Comet and when i call to get a refund i'm told the sky department will call me back. Convientiely there is no-one available!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi, bought in-store on 15th Dec. Had real problems and only got them resolved a couple of days ago (install due tomorrow). The first problem seemed to be data having to be rekeyed from the micro-site (although I got the feeling that was just a story).

Did you get a Comet receipt and a printout from Comet giving details of the Sky offer which listed your install date and payment details? The offer finished on 24th December and my order wasn't processed by Sky until after that date but they did honour the deal (they don't have any choice). They charged me the full price and then credited back the difference.

If you don't want to proceed then go back to Comet to get your £30 back but if you do want to proceed at the £99 price go back to Comet and get them to call Sky. BTW if calling Sky they now have a ringback service or use www.saynoto0870.com I spent hours on the phone getting it sorted.

Well I'm set for my HD installation upgrade this Saturday morning! I've had my call from Comet and Sky to confirm this and checked it when I log into Sky.com. So fingers crossed all goes well as I've read some not so good stories about installations etc..

I'm watching standard Sky on 2 LCD TVs using Sky Eye. If I upgrade to Sky HD, will I get the HD pictures on the bedroom tv also using Sky eye?
  • Well after several more phone calls with Sky today i'm still no further. At least with the cheaper calls it helped.
Sky are saying they have no record of it and comet wont give me the deal without taking the sky talk which of course the sky system is currently down!
Did everyone who got the deal get confirmation from sky? I've still to receive anything from either sky or comet!

Unfortunately not, that would be great if it worked. You need a HD box via a HDMI cable to a HD ready TV per room.

It took a little while for me to hear anything from anyone. Sky won't know anything until Comet tell them your details, but whenever I called Comet they were always able to tell me that my order was on the system.

It seems that there are only 2 people in the whole of Comet who can deal with Sky orders so that is why they take so long to get back to you. Did you order instore or on the phone?

Has the £30 been taken from your account?
