Came home and checked comets website and the t&c's state
Sky HD box offer: If a new customer subscribes to any Sky digital package (from £16 -£45 a month) with Sky HD and Sky Talk or an existing customer upgrades to Sky HD and Sky Talk, they will receive a Sky HD box for £99. £99 price applies for first Sky HD box only. One offer per household.
Now I'm really cheesed off!
Planning to ring comet tommorrow.
I phoned comet and mine is being installed on 11th Dec, existing customer for 2yrs. Also signed up to the free sky talk package!!!0 -
However if you don’t then this its a complete waste of money as at present HD content on BBC HD and Sky One HD is part time (only three hours a day on BBC, and Sky One HD not much better).
I think you will find that BBC HD is now a dedicated channel for 9 hours a day(3pm to midnight I believe)0 -
I too was greeted with the comment from the salesman that I had to purchase a new TV to be eligible for the deal and he was also unsure whether the deal was open to existing Sky customers such as me. I produced the T & C's I had printed earlier and this prompted the salesman to log onto the Sky micro site of the Comet system and bingo there it was for all to see. This has the hint of a salesmen after commission on new sales or inadequate training - surely Comet brief their staff of these offers. Anyway from here on, the registration took about 10 minutes.
I also found it easy to get the MAC number from my existing broadband supplier and I did not have to run the gauntlet of "the retentions department".0 -

You don't need to take Sky Broadband for this offer, just Sky Talk, which is free.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I called Comet and Sky (Monday) and both told me we couldnt have the HD at the £99. Sky wanted something like £250, so we said we weren't having it at that price. Today I got a call to say we could have it for £99, they are coming on the 15th to set it all up! Cant wait.:TI also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you

would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Sort of correct, basically if you have had an account running continuously for 3+years with Sky, when you place the order it shoud be matched to your existing account, my mate did this and when he logged into his mysky.com account it showed only £69 being debited... have read a couple other forums where the same thing happened£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
It's got nothing at the moment on my Sky account but they've debited £39 from my bank account, If I'm not mistaken it's for 3 years £30 off so I would assume more than that it's another £30?
Or have they made a mistake? ;-) shhhhh0 -
