Anyone having trouble with post office savings?

Trying to edit a direct debit but having a bit of trouble:
Get this error message whenever i click the edit button. Had this midweek and thought i'd give it a few days before trying again. Looks like i'll have to call them. Just wondered if i was alone with this issue or if others here were suffering it too.We are experiencing some technical difficulties with our site.

This has been going on for years. You got to call them to get rid of that message. They need to change something in your account settings before you can use it properly.
Best advice is to avoid PO savings. Though this doesn't help you if you are already stuck.0 -
Rather than edit an old account I've always found it easier to open a new one to create a brand new dd.

That's a little unkind.Most of us 'regulars' only use PO as "a DD source of last resort";)This has been going on for years. You got to call them to get rid of that message. They need to change something in your account settings before you can use it properly.

Open more BM accounts. Don't need a cheque for subsequent accounts.0

I've just logged in to my account now and looked for a link to open further accounts but didn't find one (a link).
Or are you supposed to just go to the site, not log in & apply as a new customer would, but somewhere along the line they'll realise you're an existing customer and not ask you for a cheque?0 -

My two main gripes with BM is the turnaround time to account opening (I recall it taking a month to open an account with them, though not quite as long as the 5 weeks it took to open and switch to M&S). The other gripe being the site badly needs an app or at least an updated interface. Everything about the site looks like its been kicking around in its current guise since 2001. Saying that, at least its reliable, unlike those god awful Post Office accounts.
BTW, if you're still stuck for other DD sources, check out the Ecology Building Society. They've got two accounts which you can have a DD (Easy Access and Regular Saver). Additionally Co-Op Bank is advertising a 'Select Access Saver' which is provided by Britannia. That one also gives you a DD - though you do have top open it with £500. HOWEVER, the minimum balance is £1, so you could take the £500 out of it once you got the DD setup for £2 a month or whatever you wanted to do. Another option off the top of my head was Scottish Widows Instant Saver 2, though you do have to maintain a £100 balance at all times to keep it open.0
