    Afternoon all :hello:

Shez - somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I think Stir-up Sunday is traditionally the day when you make the Christmas pud. Or is it cake? Anyway - fruity bits and booze - same difference :D;)

I've got a headache and have just taken a painkiller so am hoping it will go away in a minute. Think I'm coming down with a bit of a cold though, as my glands are a bit swollen (always the first symptom of anything, ever since I had mumps when I was 5). I need to do some cooking for the freezer this evening - a beef casserole (no particular recipe) and a lentil curry out of the Anjum Anand book which I got recently when the Book People had a stall in my office. Must phone my mum as well.

Been to Tesco to pick up some more wine before the 25% discount ends. Hopefully I've got enough now that I shouldn't need to buy any more till about Feb, by which time it'll be Lent and I might convince myself to do without till after Easter. Trouble is, I tried that last year and it didn't work - I had a wine rack completely empty but for a bottle of champagne, and I promised myself I wasn't going to buy more wine until Easter Monday - I ended up tucking into the bottle of champagne on Good Friday, or was it Holy Saturday :o:o:D :rotfl: We shall see!

Am going to get some of the Christmas booze in next week, too - this time of year Tesco always have my favourite pricey booze reduced to the same price as less pricey booze (25% off Bombay Sapphire and Smirnoff Blue) so need to make the most of that, as offer ends 4th December. I can't believe it's so nearly December already  A month till Christmas, in fact :j :j

Mrs_mix, stefejb's DD and anybody else not feeling well - HUGS.

    Love Rzl xx

We've just watched our christmas movie, which I bought from poundland for, yes - £1:j

It's called Secret Santa. Guess who's coming to town and some of it had us all laughing out loud.

It's definitely a film we would watch again, and worth picking up if you happen to see it. It's on DVD with a picture of Santa on the front. More for older kids than little ones though.

Aussie thank you for the link:kisses3: :rotfl: I shall definitely look for some dishcloth cotton, but won't get a chance to make it until after Christmas. It will be my New Year present to myself:D PenPen should make one too;)

Shez Rzl is right, today is traditionally the day to mix the puddings. Today is the last Sunday of the Church year, next Sunday being the first in Advent. The set collect for today starts "Stir up O Lord the will of thy faithful people" When the congregation heard "stir up" they were reminded of the need to make the Christmas puds:rotfl: Well that's how the story goes anyway;) Hope DD is feeling better.

Off for a look round' CM xx

CM, you can use any cotton yarn, it doesn't have to be dishcloth cotton.

PenPen has seen a penguin one, I've seen a link she posted somewhere.

(I would have thought that her chickens would have been sending them out as Christmas presents to their namesakes. ;) )
