Have a great time Nelski and Panda. Dinner sounds lovely, and as for all that booze :naughty::D

Our dinner's in the oven, but I haven't done much else today other than enter loads of competitions over on the comps board. Actually, it's been really nice lounging about but I need to get started.

DD1 is walking around in a little strappy vest top complaining how cold she is.

"Get a jumper on then" makes me sound old and moany, but I have visions of the gas bill in January, so "Hey missus, get a jumper on then!!!!!!!!!!!"

We're going to watch the movie after dinner, snuggled up in my bed so I am looking forward to that.

catowen, we've done the christmas movie thing since the girls were little, and it is really nice. Thankfully we've moved on from Tweenies / barney's christmas movies now. Although there is one barney vid that reminds me of their younger christmases, so we might just watch it again this year before it vanishes to the amazon pile.

    Pipkin xxxx

Panda the menu sounds lovely - have fun (some sore heads tomorrow methinks - we'll all have to whisper).

done beggar all today except watch moulin rouge twice curled up with dd. Dd is word perfect on not just the songs but the dialogue as well and I have to keep telling her to shhh. Freezer dive has revealed a marge tub sized bag of an orange soup and the same of an orange curry looking thing which will hopefully combine to make something edible later - have cheese on toast on standby just in case :)

Elona - I think you might be right about dd's dad and gran. she actually has a pretty high pain threshold - before her ear surgery she was getting infections so regularly that she barely noticed - I had one once and wanted to die - so if she says she is in pain she is. She also loves school and would not try to skive. tbh though gran is not a suitable person to look after her as she's not that well and it was very unfair of exoh to leave her there. Never again!

have a good rest of the day all :)

Hi Shez! I can't take the credit for the pastry, unfortunately ;) it's 'researcher's' recipe and can be found here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=316377&highlight=researcher

The quantity makes 36 mince pies, not many of which actually made it to the freezer in the end :o but I DID get the banana loaf done as well so I'm feeling virtuous now.

  • Evening all
Well I know it's not evening yet, but it's dark here & we left the hotel in London at 10:30 & only been home about half an hour!!! So it feels like we've lost a day.
The lodger was out when we arrived home, but arrived shortly after us, murdering a song from The Lion King. She's in a good mood, so I can only assume the uncling went well.

Big hugs to penpin, Mrs Mix, Jayward & anyone else in need.

We had a great weekend, lots of giggles, can't see that we'll go to the exhibition again, there are less & less stalls their every year & the prices for food & drink are astronomical, ta round of drinks that cost £15 in a pub came to £37 at the exhibition. The rest of the group have decided to go to the Hamburg one next year, which is obviously way out of our budget.

Our hotel room was good, we were on the 15th floor so the view was wonderful. We ate out in a small Italian resteraunt, in fact it was so small we nearly filled the place & there was only 6 of us. Everyone spent loads of money & bought all sorts of outragous clothes & stuff. I fell in love with a round summer house, but at £6000, I don't think Santa will be putting one in my stocking. The only downside to the whole event was the journey home which took 5 hours instead of 1. Still we are home now & I'm about to do some more knitting.
    Hugs Hester
