Os Daily 25th November 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 25th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone, its a long time since i started the thread!
Cold again here but at least no rain.
Hope everyone had good days yesterday i havent had time to catch up with yesterdays thread yet so hugs if needed ((()))
Well the Bush tucker challange went down fantasticlly, i have not laughed so much for ages.:rotfl: :rotfl:
All 3 boys joined in, ds2 retired after first round and that was only cold rice!! But the other two managed cold black pudding, very hot roasted peppers, peas and custard and then for the final round the 2 remaining boys and dd!! Held a unpealed prawn in their mouths whilst i peeled one in front of them showing them the insides!!!:D
It was brilliant the kids loved it and we all agreed we will have to do it again.
Plans for today, quick tidy up this morning then off to ds3 footy match, only 1 match today thank godness:T so a lamb dinner with full trimmings later.
We didnt manage to get DH car for the mot retest as the seller i bought the wiper blades off hasnt sent them:mad: , and as i have only paid £9 from ebay i refused to go to the shop and pay £25 for a set, so have decided to wait for the ones from ebay to arrive, this put dh in foul mood for most of the morning but he soon cheered up when the footy came on!!
Have a good day all

morning everyone
Had a broken night cos DD is now suffering with ear ache:o either this cold has blocked her tubes or she has an infection, so will have to take her to the docs this week.
Yesterday I went toTesco to get some xmas booze, their 3 for £20 has finished!! sainsbury/asda do the same deal but tesco one included magners cider the others dont, oh well. I cant believe how busy the shops were -heaving!!!!
Might do some baking today if I can get my act together and find a good pastry recipe for mince pies, ive got a jar of mincemeat reduced in the summer for about 10p to use up!
Glad your knee is on the mend MrsMix!
DLB - sounds like real fun!!
twink - you cant beat staying toastie warm can you!
Have a great sunday everyone! x
forgot to say: yesterday Sainsburys had all toys half price, offer until 28th!!!!0 -
Hi all! :santa2: I haven't posted on the daily for over a week; it's been bedlam here but hopefully things are on the up again.
Huge hugs to Jayward, JackieO, Penny Pincher! and Mrs Mix and everyone else who needs a special bearhug.
DD was so ill last week with this vomiting bug that's rife in the schools at the moment, poor thing, I don't think I've ever known her be so sick before. Anyway she's on the mend now and hopefully by some miracle OH and I seem to have avoided it, fingers crossed. However I was poleaxed last weekend by excruciating toothache  , got an emergency appointment at the dentist who said I needed root canal work (a snip at £200   ) and gave me some antibiotics to take down the inflammation. Thank goodness they seem to have worked and I feel much more like myself again today:D
So today is Mince Pie Day, I can't wait, I looooove mince pies, my favourite part of Christmas! I have researcher's Best Mince Pie Pastry Ever recipe ready to make (made it last year and it was scrummy) and the mincemeat is presently gently marinading in a pool of extra rum and chopped apple :rotfl: . I have been up since the crack of dawn (actually before that I think) and done the week's ironing, put a loaf in the BM and fed the cat, the wild birds and me, swished the downstairs loo and tidied the kitchen AGAIN after OH and DD wrought havoc in it last night after I'd gone to bed  Whew. Just awarded myself a few minutes on here before starting my whirl of domesticity again - I also have plans to make one lot of turkey stuffing and a banana loaf out of the very squidgy bananas currently residing in the fruit bowl.
Have a great day everyone! The sun is peeping out here now, what a treat.

Good morning everyone,
Nice sunny day here but we had some rain during the night. Made a batch of Anzacs this morning and did the usual house tidy. This arv watched a movie on telly while I knitted. Making another dishcloth, for my sister with her xmas gift. We hope to meet up in about a fortnight so hopefully it will be finished by then.
Twink The blankets must be a good size if they are to keep you warm.
MrsMix :hello:Glad to hear your knee's so much better today.
Shez Hope DD gets better soon.
Mrs Flitt Hope your baking day turns out great.
Well I will get going. Tea is cooking in the oven so I better go and check it. Hope you all have a great day. Will pop back later. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all
Haven't managed to read yesterday's thread but I hope all is well. Took DS swimming yesterday, not to wildlife park. It was freezing. Only managed an hour before giving up. Then OH treated us to dinner. Then I went out with some of the girls from work to see Eastern Promises at new cinema. Very expensive even with money off vouchers. Still it was worth it to letch at Viggo:p . Bit gory though but I didn't watch those bits.
Plan to go out to monthly farmer's market later, need to check out what they've got as it's ages since I've been. Roast brisket for dinner Yum!
Not sure about pud, will have a look. Then I have ironing and generally getting organised for school to do.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all who are feeling grotty:A xx0 -
Good morning:hello:
It's rained overnight, but doesn't feel so cold this morning. No frost on the car windscreen is always a bonus:D
So Aussie, going to start your own little cottage industry with the dishcloths? Will this replace the lettuce as the currency of choice:rotfl: You'll be putting in fancy stripes before you know it:p
mrs mix, glad to hear the knee is improving. Don't go trying to do too much too soon though:D
Mrs Flittersnoop, that's some pricey dental work:eek: Still worth it to be pain-free. (((hugs)))) to your DD. There's a lot of it about, you and DH have done well to avoid it.
Church later, so I suppose I should go shower and dress. Then I intend to attack my bedroom. It's beginning to look like a jumble sale in there, with the stacks of Christmas goodies piling up. That's the problem with tiny houses, no room for the normal *clutter* let alone all the extras for Christmas. And for some reason all the children's toys I've bought so far have come in huge boxes:rotfl: I've had a few terrific bargains that mean some of my great- nephews and nieces have got much better gifts than I could normally buy them:D
Must get started,
((((Hugs)))) if you want one,
CMYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

JAYWARD just read the thread from yesterday, so sorry to hear your news. hugs to you.
BLAIRWEECH Sorry it wasn't your day and you didn't get your job. It's so traumatic witnessing an accident like that. I am sure it wasn't meant to be and something better will be coming your way soon.
