    hello peeps.
its been a while. I gave myself a year off work and lived off my savings and small widows pension while I finished my studies , only having a placement and studies made my life easier and as a result my health feels a little more stable. The fibro and whatever it is feels better controlled , but now my savings are low and I need to get back to work and build them up again.
so popping in to say Hi to those who remember me and hello nice to meet you to any I don't

I remember you CC and the strength and love you showed supporting your husband through a dark and sad journey until he could fly free with no more pain.

It was wise to give yourself that break and the time to recover both physically and mentally after the difficult days and nights.

I mainly post on OS and one of the great things about that forum is in tough times there's often a listening ear when many people are in bed and the long night seems to last forever. We get to "know" many people we may never meet in real life but we can give them a space in our hearts through good and bad times. People say words are easy and meaningless but a few words can help someone through the next hour or day when life is hard.

I'm glad to hear your health is improved . The good old pacing is the way to go if you can. I understand though that at times it's not always possible. When I started the first of these threads I was amazed how many posters have Fibro. Often with other conditions but a large percentage.

You're sure to remember Mar she's just been diagnosed with Fibro to add to her list. I'm beginning to think she;s aiming for The Guiness Book of Records but seriously the more things that are added the more complex things become. What helps manage one can work against another.

Now you're heading for a new chapter in your life with a return to work I wish you only positive times.

I notice you've changed your signature. I still remember flying free. You did your husband proud in a very loving way with him as the focus of every day.

Good luck and pop in if you can.

I'm the newbie on this thread. I am a sweet wee old lady CC, very harmless and very sane.
Just ask Pol.... erm. No. Don't.

Liar,Liar your pants are on fire :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm sure Cornish Chick must remember you Mar from the tougher threads. Once seen never forgotten eh?

How's your weather? I was watching the forecast last night and it looked like either you or WCS have some interesting weather heading your way.

As a former nurse do you watch Casualty? I was wondering as I watched it last night.

We actually saw some sun today. Not very warm and cooling rapidly now but I had a wander round the back garden found various spring bulbs in flower and some of the tiny pale lemon welsh primroses about to flower. A number of birds with twigs and moss in their beaks. It doesn't seem long since Christmas but here we are in February . I'm convinced the older I get the faster time flies. My mum used to say that and I'm beginning to think she was right.

Not too bad forecast here, winds of 55mph. Not high for here.
I dont watch telly at all, I read or knit or faff about online.
I've been watching a big fat greedy pheasant stuffing his face with all the bird food in my garden. I am thinking Very Bad Thoughts that involve Game Pie...;)

Your reputation goes before you Mardymar. I knew Cornish Chick would remember the wee wummin up the hill.

Step away from the pheasant NOW.

caronc I'vw just accused you of jumping the gun on tomato growing on the Hygge thread. Just noticed it's an old thread so as you were.

Hmm shouldn;t have mentioned gun and pheasant in the same post. It's like trying to tame a toddler.

You are an evil wee wummin. Light a candle and calm down. I hope the gamekeeper son keeps his under lock and key and a scary dog on duty.
Pick up the knitting and calm yourself.

It's lovely and sunny here today after a very frosty night. The sky was full of bright stars last night so much nicer than wet and gloomy. Just the daylight coming earlier and the dark a little later makes me look forward to spring. I'll just ignore the forecast for the weekend!

I do tend to hunker down in winter but today I'm feeling quite motivated , not quite full spring cleaning mode but baby steps and some seed planting etc.

Tomorrow will be back to the Pharmacy for the meds they didn't have last Friday. I swear if I could make that Antiviral I would. They had a little of the other short ones but yet again none of the AV.

Less than two hours and the forum will be migrating to Vanilla hopefully by sometime tomorrow. I lke the look on the screenshots on site feedback but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Hope everyone is plodding on and hopefully seeing some sunshine. I'm hoping to get some cooking for the freezer done at the weekend , weather permitting. In stormy weather the wind here can take you off your feet on the way to the garage.

Take care all thoughts as always with Wolfy. Aot and many others . Hope you're snuggled down WCS.

  • re prepping for the storm, well the last big one that passed through knocked down a few things in my garden, and I left them down lol, cos I didn't have the energy to put them back up.. so low energy for the win.
