flowerofthewest wrote: »Hi - I failed in this challenge some months ago, sorry! Had an emergency and had to open tin - had just over £300 in October (sooooo close!), so I'd like to try again for the next challenge.
I do still check in here every now and again to see what's going on.
Hope it's ok to join in again for next Christmas - promise I won't open it this time!

You haven't failed.Lots of us needed to open our tins at different times for various reasons.I opened £2 coin and £1 coin tin in August to take my kids on holiday.I had £191 in total.I started saving again immediately and will included that amount in my final total.I have a sealed smash tin that contains silver coins and I have no idea what's in that. This is the tin I'm most excited about.Come back Dec 1st and declare your total and I will pop it against your namelost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

I'd also like to be considered as an entry for the challenge this coming december.
So is there any specific sealed pots people are using? Or is it just a case of will power or very strong salotape to hold it shut! Those who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000 -
Welcome to the mad house (you think I'm kidding???) jpwhittle (are you going for the full £1000?!!!), broke mum of three and nickynoo08 good to have you all here and your numbers will be found on the new thread on Dec 2nd. You save exactly as you wish nicky, it's just good to see folk saving! Good luck with your aim! A warm welcome to you also rancid-a, good to hear about the bhs tins, quite fancy a millionaire one myself!

Hi skint_spice - the link to the paper mache making is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....html?t=646765
Hiya oopalah. No problems about the numbers as I think it's best for members from this time around to keep the ones they already have, no point in changing to my mind and Stunty's holding a gun to my head for him to keep his!!! No pressure at all see!
Patience kittiej! Your demi-john's going nowhere on the day and you'll still have it to look forward to! I expect a lot of folk will be working anyway. It'll be great to have you next year, you too Joyful and please don't mention car parking costs!!!!
Buffy, you do it whichever way you wish, I certainly don't blame you for hanging on with the can until it's full. Good luck with em all!
Hi tootifrooti - you're already on the list and your number is 264. Glad we'll have you with us next year and thanks for all the bank info, crafty devil you!!! Start a confused thread moneypooh?? Whatever d'you think this is??!!! :eek:Your number is 252 some folk'd forget their heads if it weren't for all the visible nuts and bolts!!!
You're welcome to join in next year flowerofthewest and please don't worry about having to use your money for a bill - that's life! I'm just so pleased you had it saved to turn to. The main thing is that we're saving and .....can re-start again too! However, if folk can stick to it, then far best to do so - but if needs be....!
Thanks for the update mummytummy, though why is going SO fast!!! Hi LC and Molly, you and I are the same with our unknown quantities Molly, I'm like a kiddie waiting for the toy shop to open! :j
Hi chunkytfg (almost missed you then) and welcome to the thread. You're most welcome to join us for the next thread (Dec 2nd) and you'll find your number on the list there on the day. You use any pot you like, I had a Drinking chocolate tub first and made a slit in the lid and sealed the top of that all round with cellotape, hubby then found a cheap hexagonal storage jar with a lid in Wilko's, but you can use whatever you like, but if you wish to buy a cheap one there are some in poundland and bhs also have some, though I've no idea how much they are, but you could always PM rancid-a (on previous page) and ask her how much. Good luck and good saving!
Night all.
