I hope to save at least $150 in my pot. The idea is that the six of us (me, OH and the 4 kids) all get 25 pound each on 1st of December to buy the others presents (fiver each) so for example :- I would buy 5 pressies and any thing I save from $25 goes back in the pot for next year..

However as my boys (18 months & 4) can't be expected to go shopping yet, I do theirs for them. In fact the baby has already bought all 5 of his presents , wrapped them up and put them away! He did quite well I think:-

Me:- 'Lush set' 4.45 (Special offer on)
    Dad:- Lynx set 1.88 (BOGOF)
Harri:- Star Hot water bottle 2.50 (half price)
Hannah:- Pink photo frames 2.50 (half price)
Toby:- Cash cascade 4.00 (half price)

Total spend $15.33 out of $25...so 9.67 goes back in the pot and 15.33 can go towards some food from Iceland come December..

I know I shouldn't be spending the money I expect to get from the pot yet..but I bought it all with my Christmas money so I haven't gone into the budget.

Put in another $6 today too....

(Sorry I'm using $ - pound sign not working! American keyboard!)

Quick hello to everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the festivities and are set for the new year ahead. Phil the Pig is very slowly gaining weight buy I have absolutely no idea how much is in him - weight gain being updated each week in signature.

Just preparing for all these new challenges and I guess it has been said many, many times before on here ... next year is going to be very challenging :)

All the very best to you and good luck. Welcome to all the new members, too. Great seeing so many here and the best thing about MSE forums is that I have now confirmed what I always suspected - I'm not the only scrimping, saving, pennypinching person with financial OCD!! :rotfl:

    Cheers folks

Nope not by the look of this.....

Is there a charge to use Coinstar?
Yes. For Coins-to-Cash service, Coinstar charges a 7.9% processing fee. This means you'll pay approximately 7.9p for every £ of coins counted. Our customers tell us they are willing to pay a small service charge for speed and convenience rather than sort, count, roll and carry their coins to a bank
    .

You can choose to donate them all to charity instead of keeping them yourself.
