Morning,
Another day of rain, I've forgotten what blue sky looks like!
Not very much from me again as I'm still not 100 % and dh is working from home so keeps making sure I'm not overdoing it.
Today I have/will
* washed 2 loads on the quick 30 degree wash and hung on radiators to dry (I know dh will put the heating on as sitting by the desk all day he does get cold)
* put a beef stew into the sc to cook for the day - this will be for the weekend as its our treat food tonight, kids have asked for pizza, dh & I haven't decided yet.
* watch a film from our stash with the kids tonight with some nibbles and candle light
* rm surveys
* iron dh's work shirts and hang everything else straight away
Thats about it, take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Evening all

Pouring with rain nearly all day today!
Off to bed shortly as we had a really late night last night. And I have GD staying over tonight, so will be up super early in the morning no doubt :rotfl:
Did some work for my business this morning, and then decided to declutter a large bookcase in the dining room to make more space. Emptied it out and put all the stuff away in boxes (it was sales stuff, not books). Freecycled a box of odd glasses, all other stuff now up in loft. Now got to get rid of the bookcase itself. Have offered it to a local charity, but annoyingly they can't tell me whether they will accept it until Monday. Oh well, if they don't take it OH can dismantle it and use the wood for something else I suppose. Still got more stuff to put away, but the room is starting to look a bit clearer.
Not much else happening apart from that - no spending except for some more storage boxes for my sales stuff, but that is a business cost, so I am not counting that.
Hot drink and bed I think!0 -

Hi October [STRIKE]Octopuses[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Opthalmologists[/STRIKE] Outstanding Odyssey Seekers,
I've been working my darned socks off out in the real work. It's been bumpy as the company I work for has had a media-worthy issue but I'm still alive and solvent. No time to real past posts so sorry if anyone has mentioned me and I've ignored you. I have been kinda keeping the faith by time has often got the better of me and there has been takeaway food.:coffee:
Also, my physical health has taken a serious turn for the worst with the re-emergence of an old problem.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:
* Check online banking. Done. Also checked DWs.
* Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 374/500. Cycled.
* Clean house with Stardrops and washable cloths. Done. I had to give a very stern talking to to the Bathroom which was looking horrific.
* Withdraw £8 cashback from TCB and my company's cashback scheme. Done.
* Got discounted tickets to see my ice hockey team tonight. Any other EIHL fans in the group?
Whatever else I can think of when the brain-fog clears.

Hi gang
Can't remember when I last posted - I've started a few but didn't get round to hitting submit with baby girl taking up my time.
We were away a couple of weekends and then I had a cold but back to normal this week and getting on with our wee routine.
Ally!! You've got to look after your own health as a first please!! Glad to hear you're off out tonight. Enjoy the ice hockey.
My main money thing at the mo is trying to decide when to go back to work... Mainly whether I can afford 5 weeks unpaid or 12 weeks unpaid... Basically, to take a year off 12 weeks will be unpaid but I will have 7 weeks of accrued leave so it's whether I take that 7 weeks as part of the 12 weeks, or at the end of the 12 weeks (so end up having a full year off + 7 weeks holiday at the end). Not going back until June 2020 is pretty tempting at the min.
I could also do up to 10 keep in touch days at full pay so maybe I should see how I can fit that in if work would be up for that...
Not up to very much today tbh. Getting online shop delivered - that's the main excitement! :rotfl:
What else:
- HM bread
- Reading free ebook
- Check banking and YNAB and make sure it's all up to date
- Jump in OH's bath after him
- Checked credit report
Have a good weekend everyone :beer:0 -
Morning everyone
Great to hear from u Ally and LaE.please make sure u look after urself Ally (says the person who had a stern talking to by the GP yesterday!), ur health is so Important.
I crashed last night. Must of really needed the sleep 10 hours altogether:eek:
Did another tip run yesterday and really made the most of it but with the stair lift and carpet changes this week as well I was really tired:( I did say in my defence to my GP that the stair lift and carpet were out of my control. I am pleased they are done and out of the way:j
Banking all checked, everything good.
Really need to get my spends book up and running again, especially with more diy work being undertaken
Have put a wash on, eco setting.
Have blue skies outside so will pop washing on the line:j
Heating off. Had it on for a hour last night as really cold but windows open today.
Have been on a real decluttering mission as the more tat I get rid of the easier i find to keep rooms tidy and clean. Have a long way to go but have sorted out 4 items to pop on the tesc@ charity shelf today
Go to Tesc@, need cat litter and a couple of other bits. Will stick to list
That's about it from me, have a good day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi All,
As I spent all my money I don't have on stuff and ds party last weekend I am determined to stay in this weekend. So far I have stayed in bed trying to make a meal plan for the week before I go shopping in a bit, not much of a plan, but at least I will have a proper shopping list when i go. But I think I will allocate 50 instead of 30 for the shop as I want to stock up on some staples.
Also I want to cook some snacks for freezer, as I hate buying all of the portion packed expensive snacks. And ds have decided to go to the gym every day after work, so he pretty much packs an extra back pack of food everyday for his 12 hour days.
Was quite bad yesterday as bought and drank nice bottle of wine while watching tv w ds, no excuses but it was a long week and I cooked a nice pasta dish w cherry tomatoes, lots of garlic and chicken from freezer.
I really should save my spending money for going out w friends, as a bottle costs the same as buying a glass for me and a friend - which is much more fun.
This weekend I will do:
Flue shot
Shop
Walk dog
General clean
Clean desk and do some prep for next week
Apply for a job or an opportunity
Do some artwork
Wash and take up new curtains in bedroom
Tea/walk w friend
Longish run tomorrow morning (now that I can do long distances I want to keep it up)
La E
What you want to balance is keeping up with the ups and downs of colleagues and work issues - I would say to take the 10 keep in touch days ... they are paid, but the price is that you will then be mentally involved w your job whilst at home w your lovely daughter! But if you like your job and your colleagues and am going back full time next year, I would probably take the keep in touch days, as things sometimes moves very quickly.
Anyways enjoy your home time in the mean time, and if you can afford it take as long as you can.
Have a lovely weekend
Have put heat back on timer as it is very damp, even if it is not very cold. Had mould in the past and had to throw out everything from a whole room. So quite bad.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

At first read I imagined you going to the stationers for 10 boxes of paper fasteners...:rotfl:Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Afternoon all

Well, GD woke at 4.03, 6.12 and then we finally got up just after 7. Pancakes for breakfast, painting, collecting snails in the rain, learning to play draughts, playing another game (after making the pieces for homework), reading her school book, can't remember it all - phew! Then her mum turned up with the other one at about 11am. Finally got my lunch when they had gone just after 2pm, and then collapsed in a heap :rotfl:
I did drag myself out with OH to take the dog for a decent walk a short while ago, as it had stopped raining at last.
I have taken lamb tagine out of the freezer for dinner
And fruit to make a crumble
Made a loaf in the BM
Pushed the trundle bed back in its place under the other one in the spare room and tidied up there
Put all the toys away (still have to tackle the paints)
Need to do a freezer shuffle so might as well redo the inventory which has lapsed
Not spent anything :T0
