Hope you have a better day today, 1LL x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!
  • Sending hugs 1LL hope things start to improve. It's miserable when it just seems never ending but hopefully that's the last and good things to come :), u deserve the good things :)....and if u don't mind I will be pinching the leftover veges with cheese sauce idea:D

DNMS have a great time on ur hols
DawnW thats terrible that the HA didn't let u know :mad:I sit on a HA tenant panel and that would not be perceived as good at all.

Enjoying the peace and quiet this morning but still got up at 6am that I have had to do the past couple of days-it has been manic.
Old carpet out, old stair lift out, new carpet in etc........it seemed never ending and draining.
Dragged myself to the tip. Threw extra items into the car on top of the old carpet.
Hoping to do another tip run today
Then the decorator will be coming in, in 2 weeks time as everything else is looking scruffy. I'm getting the paint, knew what colour I wanted. Then noticed hot UK deals said about a B & Q offer on a 3 for 2 on paint so paint ordered yesterday, after doing additional price checks:A
Went up to bed early last night for a chill and relax, just couldn't keep my eyes open! Even the cats are still tired
    Banking all checked everything good:T
    Need to check quidco
Letters sent yesterday-stamps used from RM survey
Picked up some yellow sticker items and reduced chips yesterday. Went slightly off the list for a custard slice but needed it, thoroughly enjoyed it and it was YS :rotfl::rotfl:
Really into the one cook 2 meal plus at the minute so will be doing that today.
Couple more bits of paperwork to do, but actually fairly up to date-that is a first!
Trying to keep decluttering while plodding on.
Think it will be another early rest up night tonight-haven't done anymore more 'C' present wrapping. I hate wrapping in general, and do appreciate the early prep at 'C' -did get a couple of food bits to stash away yesterday while on a special. They will be well hidden when DD is home in a couple of weeks:rotfl::rotfl:
    Have a great day everyone

Morning all, Thank you for the well wishes. I'm still coughing and sneezing everywhere but slept well and everything always seems better after a good nights sleep.
Hk, its a great use up meal, ours ended up being, ..... peas, carrot, cauli, brocoli, mushroom and onion cheese and the kids love the crispy breadcrumb topping. (I like it with a little bit of gammon on the side if we have any too)

    Todays list
    * sew up a little bit of wear and tear on the top of my trainers (as they're really comfy ones with plenty of wear left in them!) :heartpuls
    * make kids lunches for tomorrow (dh hoping to be wfh) :heartpuls
    * rm survey to post this afternoon :heartpuls nearly got in the car to take it but decided that a half hour walk around the block may help my mood so I posted it whilst walking instead.
    * freezer inventory needs doing and will take some stewing meat out to cook tomorrow too :heartpuls all tidy and organised in there again, so much more space in there now then there looked when I started!
    * maybe make a crumble as I've got at least 3 badly bruised apples in the fruit bowl and a bag of berries/leftover bits of apple/ plum & strawberries I can pop in too out of the freezer :heartpuls decided against making a crumble, going to have the stewed fruit with some yogurt that's been hidden at the back of the fridge and could do with using up instead
    * check banking/update spreadsheet :heartpuls

Thats it for me, nothing to adventurous or taxing today.

    Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Hello :)
Not waiting in for anything / anyone today :j
Collected some cutlery that I bought s/h on FB. I bought some new a few weeks ago and decided I could do with more, and this was cheaper than buying new. Obviously someone's unwanted wedding present. Not such good quality as the earlier stuff I bought, but it will do, and will go in the dishwasher :T
Did a shop in Mr S, including my monthly donation to the food bank Still need to note spends in diary
The lineful of washing that got drenched yesterday is waving wetly outside. Must get it in and put it on the airer later, hopefully before it rains again! Nearly dry outside :T Now on airer
My garlic (for planting) arrived this morning, so might get that planted this afternoon, depending on the weather I planted up one tub. The other has a self seeded tomato plant in it that I don't have the heart to grub out... even though once we get a frost it will die anyway :o Anyway, the other garlic can wait a few weeks.
Planted some mini iris bulbs that I had :)
Found a bulb vase in the garage, so set it up with one of the leftover hyacinth bulbs that I had. Now put in a dark cupboard with the others. Need to look in CS / boot sales to see if I can find another couple of bulb vases as I sold a couple of 1950s ones a few weeks ago and it has left me short. They don't have to be vintage or pretty ones, but it would be a bonus if they were!
    Pulled out some weeds
Moved some big pots around with my trusty sack barrow
Downstairs could do with hoovering though :(Not done :o
Triaged fridge a bit though, froze some leftover apple sauce, and put other leftovers out to use up for evening meal
All meals will be from home Done
Walked dog, free exercise, such as it is!
Decided to get rid of a large glass fronted book case in the dining room, which will make more space in there, and avoid feeling overcrowded when there are more than 3 people eating. Will be much more comfortable. First need to empty the bookcase, which contains mostly my sales stuff. I will need to buy more storage boxes, but that is a business cost. Will investigate further tomorrow. The bookcase itself has no value and can be freecycled. It would be good for upcycling, thinking about it, but I just need the space, I have too much furniture. Let someone else do it!
Going to visit a friend this evening, will take a bottle of wine I already have, so no extra spends. Will soon be leaving, found a small banana cake in the freezer so will take that with me to share. There will be enough for everyone to have a slice with a cuppa :) Our friends usually live in France, and are staying in a holiday cottage with rudimentary kitchen facilities.
Hope everyone has a good day today, especially 1LL and CCL!
Hope Ally, La E and CLF are ok, we miss you!

Me and my tinsy top up shops - spent £9, 50 in tesc0 last night on dinner, stuff for lunches, and primarily some dog food, the food she had the day before from Aldee made her throw up all over the house yesterday, I felt so sad for her, sick and all by her self all day.
Hate my fridge at the moment, dont want to shop, dont want to plan, just want to eat yummy food! Will make crepes filled w bacon and carrot w cumin and coreander for dinner. Not good for hips, but will make me happy, and it's what I've got in the fridge.
    Toasty Thursday to all.
