    Hi,
    Happy to have don a full day of cover today, brought lunch - made wraps w leftover fajita chicken from last night.
    Picked up swimming kit parcel from SD - but voucher to reimburse postage never materialised, and cheap fins are crappy and a bit too small, but I think I will bear with it for now and look for a pair of used ones on FB.
    Club swim tonight.
    Work or sort somethings out tomorrow - and run.
    Really want to curl up in bed but ... am planning a homely weekend this weekend.

    run laundry
    cook dinner

    I kind of want to bake something, but I don't think that will actually happen.
    Have a great Wednesday tomorrow.

    Morning all :)
    Got to sit in my brother's flat until the gas check man turns up or my brother returns from work - boo! No doubt I will get very bored and do some cleaning :rotfl:
    Other than that I shall:
    Instruct OH to remain in the house till after a buyer has picked up an item sold on FB (she is supposed to be coming before 9.30, so it shouldn't be too much of a hardship as he has only just got up!
    Another item is supposed to be leaving this evening
    I have 2 ebay sales to pack, ready to post when I get the chance!
    Meals will be from food we already have. I still have leftovers from Sunday, so we will probably continue with those.
    Check banks and update spreadsheet
    A bit of business paperwork that may get carried over till tomorrow - depends whether or not the gas man turns up nice and early!
    If I get chance, some cleaning and decluttering
    Hope everyone has a good day :)

    Ooh, what a tedious day! Sat in my brother's flat till just after 2.30 when he came in from work, then came back. He phoned later, after speaking to his HA. Apparently the person who was supposed to do the gas checks had gone off sick and nobody had bothered to let the tenants know :mad: So I now have #2 to look forward to. They are now supposed to be coming on the 28th :(
    Did a bit of cleaning at my brother's flat because I was bored :cool:
    Came back to see that a friend over from France had popped in, which was nice :)
    Packed up 2 ebay parcels to post tomorrow
    One of the FB sales was collected, the other 'forgot', so more waiting around for nothing. Reoffered the item to the next person on the list in the hope that they aren't a time waster.
    Lunch was a slice of toast at my brother's
    Dinner was a round up of roasted veg with sausages and fennel seeds
    Nothing else much accomplished :(
    Better luck tomorrow hopefully, though I do have to wait in for the camper van awning to be collected by a courier...

  • Another day off today. I like this way of working - rather than a standard 5 days work then 2 days off, my rota means I generally work 3 - 4 days then have a day off.

    Anyway - on this particular day off I will be
    - continuing with the Spring Cleaning. Today I've got the back door in my sights (not just the door but the window above it, and the bit around the edge that you don't see when the door is closed), then emptying cupboards and sorting/wiping out, and if there's time I'll pull the cooker out and clean behind it.

    - check the bank statement and update my spreadsheet
    - electrician coming this afternoon to put a new socket in the utility room for me. Soon-to-be-ex has offered to pay half (he still owns half the house and pays half the mortgage) - I hadn't even thought to ask him, and I really appreciate him making the offer
    - it's bin day tomorrow so I need to empty all the bins and remember to put the green one out tonight
    - make stock for soup. I've just rediscovered a book of soup recipes that I'd forgotten about, so might use that for inspiration and do something different (I normally make 'what needs using up' soup).

    - cook mince that's hit it's use by date. Will portion it up and freeze it, as I don't need it for tonight.

    DawnW - you seem to have done a lot of hanging around for other people, time to do something for you!!
    Have a good day everyone - it looks like the weather will be improving a bit over the next few days, so make the most of it!!
    No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...
  • morning trailing spouse. Enjoy your day off :D

    My day will look something like this:

    * nip in to town to collect library book and get some bits to keep madam entertained on a 12hr flight! Thinking activity books/colouring books
    * while in town get thread and needle to make bff's xmas gift :D
    * TOMM
    * alter dress - today is the day, sink or swim!
    * all meals from stores. Use it up lunch/dinner!
    * load of washing in, double spin and will hang on airer before going out
    * park out of town and walk in - free & free exercise, win win :D
    * read newsletter
    * order currency& do online check in - must do this!
    * set up payment to my cc on my payday

    Ok that's my starter!
    DF as at 30/12/16
    Wombling 2026: £25.70

    Morning all :)
    I love my dishwasher too Ditty - it was one of the first things I bought when I finally had some spare cash / a decent paying job!
    Trailing spouse, yes, my family frequently drive me mad, but on this one occasion it wasn't actually my brother's fault :cool:
    DNMS, hopefully Madam will sleep for some of those 12 hours!

    OK, so today I am waiting in for a courier to collect our camper van awning for repair, so can't go far from the front door until OH returns in about half an hour, but I have used this time by:
    HG pear for breakfast fruit
    Up to date with business paperwork :A
    And household admin stuff (sorting out a birthday card from stash, cheque for charity donation to that firm that sends cards that I don't like much, but don't have the heart not to buy :o, used free stamps for both)

    Listed an item on ebay
    Unfortunately had to throw half a loaf away as it had gone mouldy :mad: Still, my loss is the birds' gain I suppose!
    Made a loaf in the BM
    Soup is bubbling away on the stove :)
    Load of washing in, it has stopped raining and hopefully will stay dry!
    Started a shopping list, but I won't be going today

    Still to do:
    Put some stuff away in the garage Done
    Sort out recycling Done
    Peg out washing if it stays dry, if not it will have to go on the airer Grr, put it out, it was almost dry and then it poured down :mad: It is still out there :( I will deal with it tomorrow.
    Depending on when the courier gets here (and the weather), some garden tidying He arrived at lunchtime, then I had to wait in for a FB buyer, but knew roughly what time to expect him, so did a bit anyway. Started to empty a very large pot / urn thing that I am going to sell. It is too big for where it is, and I don't use it, so it can go. Also watered seedlings in greenhouse and pulled out a few weeds.
    Some house tidying / cleaning Did a bit, DD came round with very tantrumy GS, so dealt with that for a while.
    All food from home :)Done, most leftovers used up now :)

    Managed to get to the post office to drop off ebay parcels
    Also took 2 bags of stuff to the CS
    Another item sold on FB, with only minimal messing about from the buyer :cool:

    No spends apart from the charitable donation above :)

    Morning all!

    Today I have/will:
    * Check banks
    * Take lunch to work - use up left over sausages from dinner last night
    * Check OP/PA
    * Update spreadsheet as all CC statements now in
    * Update signature to reflect interest added
    * Read MSE email
    * Apply for new CC after being inspired by MSE email! (Trying to decrease the amount of interest I'm paying - need to get confirmation of how much I've been accepted for but hoping it will clear/ almost clear my highest interest CC!)
    * Have a quick google to see where cheapest place to get dog food is
    * Snap receipts
    * Load of washing on 30 degree eco wash

    Afternoon all,

    I'm feeling fed up and miserable at the minute, just feels like one thing after another.
    In the last 3 weeks I've had a tummy bug, almost daily bouts of toothache (waiting for an extraction) I burnt my hand on some steam as I took something out of the microwave the other day, had a fall the other day and now I've started with a cold and feel dreadful :( Sorry for venting, just fed up with myself . (oh and pmt so feeling emotional too!)

    Todays list
    * went to the gym, saw my gym buddy who told me I looked dreadful and sent me home!
    * called into primarni to pick up some yellow tshirts for the kids as the school is wearing yellow for Mental health tomorrow
    * watched the rugby with a hot water bottle on my lap and ice pack on my cheek as I had toothache!
    * popped out to aldee to buy some red peppers (great source of vitamin c) and some milk, popped into the b&ms next door to see if they had the table cloth I wanted - we looked at the weekend but couldn't find them as they were getting their xmas stock out, managed to find the one I wanted today.
    * washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash - will have to hang on radiators later
    * needed to act on a fixed term saving account that is maturing - messed up on the account security so it took on a life of its own and took nearly an hour for something that last time took minutes.

    Still to do
    * make families lunches for tomorrow Done
    * rm surveys Done
    * run the dishwasher on the quick wash Done
    and empty Done
    * check banking/update spreadsheet
    * try to eat properly for the rest of the day as I'm in that negative cycle which I find hard to break when I start feeling low.

    Right I better see what I can get done before the kids get home in 20 mins (ish)

    Take care all.
