  • I just checked my bank online and since 8/10/2018 I've withdrawn £70 in cash. Most of that was for collections and meal deposits for work. I rarely have cash on me so I have to use cards, debit card for up to a tenner and everything else goes on a cashback CC - paid off at the end of the month. I just find it easier not to mess around with cash.
When I was little I always wanted a purse like my Mum's - with lots of cash in it (I assumed it was bottomless) so I could have ice cream every day. (When the ice cream van came round we pestered for ice cream and sometimes if we'd been good out came the purse with all that lovely cash in it.)

I'm used to using cash - been using it for over 60 years, and find using chip & pin a faff on compared to just getting the cash out (for small amounts, I don't use cash for amounts over £20 where possible (CH engineer doesn't take cards though for annual boiler service), but most of my purchases are under £20). So I never considered using a card for small amounts when I had cash on me. However contactless terminals have become much more common so that can be a bit quicker, and my credit card has just been upgraded to contactless ... I may be spending less in cash in future.

  • I have no lower limit. If a shop accepts card then I will use card. Obviously I still need to use cash. Local club is still cash only as well as my barber. I also still need change for the coffee vending machine at work.
