Wireless problem connecting my desktop

I can't copy and post the ipconfig results but it states:


Media state Media disconnected


This is the same for :


- Ethernet adapter



- Wireless Lan adapter


etc etc

What do you get with ipconfig /all ?

PS: to copy from the Command window, right-click the start of the text to copy and choose Mark; left-click hold and drag the mouse to select what you wish to copy, press Enter to copy. You can then simply Ctrl+V to paste into a reply here. (Put it inside [ code ] tags for better formatting).

Am I missing something with your reply.


My desktop has not got internet access although I can do an ipconfig on it but I can't copy and paste to this site.

Have you tried the network troubleshooting in settings

If you don't have internet access you won't have much luck pasting to this site.

Good point. What are you using to post to this website? Can you copy the ipconfig /all to a text file, copy that file to the other device, then copy from there to this website?

I felt confident that one of the solutions in Mluton's post would work but no.


I did get a problem showing in one of the Troubleshooters :


Problem with Wireless adaptor or access pont


wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration.


Don't know what else to try now.


How do I get a valid IP configuration?

If you have another computer, run this command in Command Prompt on both:

ipconfig /all

Post the results here.
