I think I’ve been scammed
I got a call from !020 8123 1613. Upon answering I knew it was a company trying to sell me something. She claimed o be from Carphone Warehouse and she could give me an excellent offer. I told her I was in contract she said she can cancel my contract with nothing to pay. She said she’s give the Samsung S10 or the iPhone XS Max for £25 a month with 10,000 texts and minutes (Odd most networks are unlimited) and 60GB Data. I argues that I wanted unlimited as I don’t have WiFi and she agreed to it. Only £19.99 to pay up front. She said I could choose any network and kept confirming I won’t have to pay anything else up front and that I also get 1000 international minutes which seemed odd but I’m not in a steady state of mind atm.
She asked my name and address and I stupidly agreed then my bank details. Now I stopped myself from giving those as I thought this seemed too good to be true. I kept her on mute while I tried to search the number on google. Nothing coming up. Was weary of giving her my bank details so asked her for a direct line to her and she says it’s he number I’m calling from. The number she called from isn’t taking incoming calls.
I feel like such an idiot for falling for this.

Pay no attention to the number calling you............the scammers can fake any number.
Hang up on any cold call is the best advice2 -
My colleague thinks it might have been genuine as carphone warehouse tend to do good deals. I don’t get how they got my number though0

All sounds dodgy to me reading what you state.............especially the bit about cancelling any contract you are in
1000 international minutes .... very unlikely0 -
That’s what made me stop her and pretend I was looking for my bank details. I could be paying £85 till next December she didn’t seem bothered about my current contract. Feel like an idiot though for giving my name and address along with my current network0

CPW used to give good deals - even free ones using cashback - but never with a high end phone and a huge bundle for peanuts. Even if it were CPW (highly unlikely) sales people offer people the moon and serve something else up routinely.
That's not just an amazing deal - it completely lacks credibility and anyone calling you out of the blue, unsolicited is not only acting illegally nowadays but definitely a scam artist.
It seems there are still completely gullible people out there; some will learn to become complete cynics and some will not. Which are you??0 -

A simpler solution is to terminate call or NEVER to take cold sales calls in the first place2 -
She called me again this morning asking for my back details. I quizzes her about cancelling my contract, she said as long as it’s under 16 months they can do it because of the way car phone warehouse operate. I know it’s a scam, but a part of me thinks could my dear Mum in heaven be sending something lucky my way seeing as it’s my birthday coming up.0

£25 a month over 2 years doesn't even cover the cost of a Galaxy S10 or iPhone XS Max so just use some common sense...She called me again this morning asking for my back details. Never, ever buy something from a cold call. You have absolutely no clue who you are dealing with. Never call back on the number shown on CLI or on any number they give you. You have no way to verify if it is genuine.2
