There's a distinction here between vouchers and tickets - I haven't seen anyone report vouchers work after closing/downgrade, but I've certainly seen people report they don't work - so I don't doubt they are cancelled (although not sure how quickly).

Of course, if someone exchanged the voucher for a future ticket/booking just before downgrading or cancelling, I imagine those bookings wouldn't be cancelled.

Can certainly confirm they cancel vouchers quickly, after downgrade. Five days in our case, maybe sooner as after we received them we booked a film for a couple of days later to try the cinema out, a day after that we downgraded to Classic and now three days later the vouchers are no longer valid.

So, if downgrading/closing/switching do your online Vue bookings first would seem to be the way to go.

I did the switch and it was painless and I've been paid. I can't now find the Ts&Cs online - i know this was stupid of me to not save them! I hate their online app so would like to switch to somewhere else as soon as possible. I'm looking at Nationwide.

AM I right in thinking that I can switch now and not lose my benefit?

There's only one bank/BS with a minimum stay clause...and that's the one you're looking at now.

Incentive has been paid. I've also had cinema vouchers emailed to me.

Can I close/switch or downgrade this account now?

Will not be using the account so don't want to pay the monthly account fee.

    Thanks
  • If you close or downgrade the account, your cinema tickets will be cancelled immediately.

To avoid the £3 monthly fee, pay in £1500 into the account per calendar month and move it straight back out again.

That is kind of helpful but what is the minimum stay? I don't want to pay the £100 back, so I'd stay for a bit for that but I don't care about the Lloyds club benefit.

To be clear - the Lloyds club benefits are rubbish - they're either:
    1. cinema tickets for cinemas I don't have in the city I live in (they're all outside of the city in Bristol and I don't drive)
    2. magazine subscriptions to magazines I don't read, or
    3. Food club that gives you vouchers to dine at chain restaurants. With a google search for vouchers you can find better deals than you do with this club.

Sorry I think I misunderstood - I think what you meant was that Nationwide has a minimum stay clause? This I am okay with as I intend to make full use of 1 year with 5% interest! And might stay afterwards with them if I like them :)

They may be rubbish for you but I think they are great. I have 2 Cineworld Cinemas where I live and the price of an adult ticket is nearly £12. We get 18 free tickets a year which would otherwise cost us over £200.
