The Xmas bonus of £10 is only paid when one is actually drawing the State Pension.
I received the Winter Fuel Allowance once I reached my pension credit eligibility age but, as I deferred my State Pension for several years, I only got the extra 10 quid the first Xmas after I claimed SP.0 -
it is such a small amount the goverment would be better off giving it to the NHS
This is eminently far too sensible for any Govt. to do, and can you imagine the outrage if they tried to do it, even though to the individual it's not really significant.
...and before I get flamed for the last part of the above, if £10 once a year is enough to be sooo significant, I suggest the individuals concerned are doing something wrong for the other 364 days a year they don't get it.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Agree 100% :T0 -
If I thought for a moment that this government would actually pay my Winter fuel payment £200 & the £10 to the NHS I would say take it with my good wishes. But as I wouldn't trust them with 10p of my money because they have PROVED themselves (well mostly him obviously) to be untrustworthy I'll keep my £210 & donate it where I choose.0

Our WFA is shared between 2 family members who need it more than we do. The £10 bonus isn't worth bothering about !0 -

Quite ironic....But in a decision on March 26 the court said the group had failed to bring the claim within the limited time periods. Therefore it was dismissed. So, just as they missed the increase in state pension age, they missed filing the appeal. I suppose if you cant be bothered to keep up with things in the early 90s, there there is no reason that would change nearly 30 years later.

The Judicial Review should really never have been given permission in the first place back in November 2018. However Justice Lang decided that there was an arguable case as the effects were ongoing. The Judges in both the Judicial Review and the Court of Appeal all disagreed with Justice Lang's decision.
I'm glad the JR and appeal went ahead as they were unanimous in their verdict that there was no wrongdoing. I think the Supreme Court were correct though in not granting permission as it had gone on long enough.1
