Seems sensible, but don’t forget you could always get an EA to give you a valuation - they don’t have to know you’re not planning on selling yet. And what does Zoopla say - there’s a calculator on their website.

Thank you @themadvix it's an idea but I want to my flat into better order first. Just because I... Want to? I doubt a little bit if cosmetic paint would affect things too much but I want to get it done because it's been needed for do long. It's either a campaign or procrastination technique!

I'm delighted to announce that I have sold at a car boot! It was manic for ages. Didn't even manage to open the boot before people were asking for things. I got annoyed so I was asking higher prices than I actually wanted to scare them away and we sold a lot at the higher prices. We must have sold about half the stuff we brought with us which is excellent. Even sold the teasmade, was asked if it's working so I answered "no idea!" Just know that vintage swan teasmades sell online so we brought it so a reseller can buy it. I was running it, mum was chilling. Mainly because I'm bossy (in addition to nosey). But I had so many people assume I was mum's teenage daughter who was helping. One bloke was like "are you in school, sixth form, uni?". "Err accountant in her thirties? But good to know the plastic surgery worked!"

We made £94 less £10 entry. Which I was pretty happy with! Splitting it 50:50. Would have gotten more but I was trading 50p discounts for dog cuddles...

Yesterday, I was working (boo). Went into town to get camping chairs from the house for the car boot. Accidentally helped a little group of people build their old style gazebo for an hour. They were just so lovely. They invited me to their celebration! So cute. Couldn't due to needing to work but would have been lovely.

That's a great result at the boot sale, well done!

Very random gazebo building - sounds lovely!

Life would be very dull if I didn't! My job is boring, it's almost everything I do!

It was my mum's birthday in the week. My sister and I both took the week off and took her to Brighton. She loves Brighton and she's been wanting to go to the sea as she hasn't since before lock down. It was quite warm! But hilarious, saw people in all sorts of outfits which is always entertaining. It did make me question, there were a lot of topless men who was getting quite red. Surely the nipple is very sensitive skin? It must hurt very much if that were to get burnt!

Then I went back to work the next day and everything was on metaphorical fire. Typical.

Went to the car boot today (not to sell this time), found greymon (a Digimon) while wearing a Digimon shirt. I was delighted. 50p well wasted. I also got some yarn from a nice lady, I have colours I want for crochet projects for. I want to make a granny Square dinosaur.
  • Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:

    A jellyfish

Loving the jellyfish! Fabulous colour choice as well
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

In my experience those cosmetic things may not affect the value but they do mean offers come more quickly. Also if you can remove extraneous stuff and store it elsewhere during the photos, viewings period that also really helps with speeding up the selling process.
